Not in all religions. Even so, religion is a sham, so why does that matter? Are we run by a board of religions now?

True, but there is no valid reason to prevent people from doing things that are unnatural.

You hate people who have a different sexuality than you? Grow up.

Disgusting is subjective. It varies from person to person.

so you are saying that gay rights is a joke? why is it a joke? why shouldnt we have the same rights as heterosexuals just because we are different? so your saying that if you are lets say, an indian you shouldnt be allowed to vote just because of your skin color? Jews shouldnt be able to have any rights because they killed jesus? Umm..no.

You can't even spell, I'm not going to accept right off the bat that you fully understand human sexuality to the point where you can determine the causes of unnatural practices like homosexuality.

Of course I don't think they actively put up a smokescreen, but there are, as in all groups of people, leaders and sheep. People like "i am you aint i?" will claim they've been gay since birth because they're idiots and they're telling you what they've been told, and then there's the leaders of homosexuality, the intelligent ones, and they realise that if they can't pretend their choice is like race or nationality, something they can't control, then they aren't going to be treated like normal people.

The overall benefit from killing your bloodline is positive? What? I'm sorry, but as a biologist yourself, you must see there's nothing positive for any organism to kill off it's genes, and you have to have a fundamental flaw in your makeup or upbringing to reverse the basic biological truth that survival is good.

Wow, you should've been a statistician, writing a thesis on what is essentially "This is what gays told us". And you gave no sources in your thesis? Tell your professor to "do the research"? Fuck off.

You know what? I honestly think you just don't want to accept that it's not a chosen lifestyle. Out of the millions of people who are gay, you're saying none of them would admit to choosing it, over the Internet? Madness.

I'm not sure if you understand. The number of children that a woman will have if she has the Xq23 gene is greater than the number of male children who will not reproduce if they inherit that gene. Hence, there is a net benefit.

You're paranoid. All you have to back up your claims is "They could be lying!".

Well, if you relegious people out there are using the unatural, and Adam and Eve thing, then I could say this. I was born Jewish, I'm agnostic now though, but when they taught us the story of Adam and Eve, they always said that Eve was "born" from the rib of Adam. How can you say that it was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, and gay marriages and adoptions are unnatural, when a prominent biblical figure was created from the rib of a man?

I think everyone who is against gay marriage is either a relegious idiot, or a dipshit southerner that thinks everyone has to be like them. How can you possibly say that you are better then someone else because of your sexual prefrences? They were BORN that way, "God" CREATED them that way.

People should live there lives in any way they want to, as long as they are not a negative factor in society. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay.

    Here's a fact:
    Sexual preferences can be changed.

    Just thought I'd clarify.
Nobody is born with a constant sexual preference. So it doesn't mean "God created them gay" or w/e....

Not a constant sexual prefrence, but definitely a sexual prefrence. They were born gay, so it's quite difficult to just become straight...

You aren't born with a sexual preference, it is developed. They may however with born with genes that increase the likelihood of leaning towards homosexuality.

I suppose in an Orwellian society with advanced torture, etc., or similar traumatic experiences. Sexuality cannot be changed by an engaging conversation with somebody.

Pretty clearly you do not understand the basic concept of some of the theories of creation such as the big bang. First of all, in a massive universe, so large that we cannot possibly imagine it, odds are, actually, that somewhere in it life would be created. In fact, odds are that there would be quite a few places. Also, there is another theory that believes that when an environment is under Earth-like conditions, life will develop, that is why the main areas we search for life are places which are reminiscent of Earth such as Mars. There is yet another theory, the theory of multiple universes, which may sound silly to most people but actually explains much of quantum physics (please do not argue about it, as it is not the point). This theory basically says that their are unimagineable different universes and the one we live in happens to be the one in billions in which Earth actually developed life.

Well, sexual preferences cannot truly be changed, I don't think (unless you change the chemical makeup of their body, or genes or soemthing). You may be able to make someone tolerate the other sex, but they are not truly attracted to them with the same depth. I don't really know, no one has ever tried to change my sexual preferences lol.

That is a rather stupid comment in my opinion. If it was Adam and Steve, they would not have reproduced and the human species would have ended there. Also, just because someone is created from the rib of a man it means they are a man? Or they are gay? I mean, really, what are you getting at?

... That post was getting rather large so just thought I would continue here.

This whole argument about the natural unnatural thing is really getting on my nerves.

Let us first examine some definitions of "natural" which I can later use in my arguments. (If you want the sources for these, it was dictionary.com :D)
    - existing in or formed by nature
    - based on the state of things in nature; constituted by nature
The rest don't really apply, they apply to different situations. If you want you can pull other definitions.

Humans are formed by nature and based on the state of nature so humans are natural. Genetics that make humans tend towards or be homosexual (to be determined) are created by nature and formed by nature. The environmental factors that affect whether someone is gay or not is natural because the environment is either created by nature or by humans, which are natural.

If you believe that the environment made by humans is not natural, then many things in human daily life are unnatural. Since unnatural things are apparently 'wrong' or 'against God', then we should probably stop taking medication which is made on machinery with manufactured chemicals, eating basically every food on the market (artificial flavor, color, ingredients), wearing clothes (show me one animal that wears clothes in the wild), and using the man-made and processed computer (which I know you do since you read this).

I am tired because its late so a lot of stuff in the last few posts is probably wrong - facts, grammar, spelling, etc. I will argue with you all more later.

    Nope. And not necessarily.
Although it'd usually take a lot more than a conversation, it's not too difficult to change sexual preference with some mental/psychological discipline, I've done it. Personally, I find becoming attracted to things to be the easiest part, it's becoming unattracted to things that's the hard part.
    And you know this how?

I've never heard of a case like yours, then.

Personally, I am straight. I could, using doublethink, convince myself that I was gay, but would I truly be changing my sexuality? I think not.

Also, why would I want to do this?

I thought you meant benefti for men.

Alternatives to unproven hypotheses, however socially convenient those hypotheses may be, shouldn't be discounted on the basis that they seem unlikely to someone who believes the other hypothesis, especially where there is no proof for either (Which you still have yet to source, enjoy writing a failed thesis.

Also, sexuality can't be changed? What about all the men who've left their wives to "come out" as gay? You think they weren't aroused by their wives at all, and yet carried off a serious relationship for years? Leave your basement.

Seem unlikely? The chances of all gay people claiming that they were born that way, and no significant number of them claiming otherwise, indicates that there is either a large, unlikely conspiracy, or that they really don't choose it. If you had to make a bet, you'd have the best odds placing your money on "they don't choose it".

I received an A on my thesis, actually. Here, have a source:

    http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/bb/neuro/neuro05/web3/kgiamanco.html

That's the thing: They came out! You see, in some parts of the country, there is an extreme intolerance of homosexuals. A homosexual person can thus be pressured into marriage (yes, it happens). Once society becomes more tolerant, they can then come out.

actually, i know a gay guy who is married to a women and has children. The only reason he does this is so he doesnt get judged by other people for being gay. His wife knew he was gay when they got married.

Elaborate. Do you mean to say that anything unnatural is completely immoral? Why?
