holy fucking shit

i just had sleep paralysis for over a fucking hour. i was freaking the fuck out, and now i'm actually afraid to go back to sleep

you're literally paralyzed. you can't move because of something weird that happens with your brain that causes you to think you're still asleep when you're not so you can't move but you're aware that you're awake.

yeah i'm fine and it's nothing to go to the doctors about.. it's just something that sometimes happened when you're sleep deprived and your REM sleep patterns get thrown off or something.

I get this all the time, but for an hour? Holy shit.

 

It's called SLEEP PARALYSIS.

 

I had this now 3-5 times and it's pretty fucking scary because it's like you can't breathe and you can't move. I always try to move my arm to pinch myself so my body awakes, but I can't remember if it helped.

Normally it's a few minutes, but an hour: HOLY FUCK.

Its normal u get it normally when ur like 14 - 16 i just try to move my muscles it makes it usually faster..

 

Nah, nevermind. Forgot it. There was a guide in the User Education section on how to get those dreams, lol.

It has nothing to do with age, and there is no real cause for it.

Also, you CAN'T move your muscles.. When you're in rem sleep, your body is paralyzed. When you are woken up in a state of REM sometimes this happens.

I figure that the reason it lasted so long is because my sleep depravation caused me to go into a stage of 'REM rebound' (extended periods of REM) and that's why it lasted for an hour.
