Not even joking, that's what my friend did. He got picked on during highschool for being a bit chubby, then he took the same bus as this 6'4 dude named Jamal, and they became good friends. No one fucked with him after that.

I've dealt with this before. I laugh at it or just cool. They are only looking for a reaction and will move on when they don`t get it.

He doesn't even need to learn how to fight. Fighting is natural. If he kicks his ass he kicks his ass, but if he loses he will have made his point that he refuses to take shit from his peers. That would solve the problem.

 

If I was you I would completely ignore them, if being chubby bothers you go to the gym, if it doesn't then focus on school, that's what your there for; don't forget it.

Also telling on them not a good idea, all that will do is grant them further reasons to talk shit to you and or to other people.

In the long run if you ignore them and don't make remarks back they will regret treating you like that, just be yourself and remember that's all that matters.

EDIT:

This is an option, since your still young you can fight back and not get in much trouble unless it escalates. Although in my personal experience fighting seems to set you apart from the rest of your peers. If you win; you lose, if you lose; you lose. Here's why... You win the fight, people are mark you as someone who will fight if needed and since you won less people will freely come up to you and just chat, as you are pretty much branded as someone not to mess with.

If you lose, people talk shit about it, even if it blows over more people can/will attempt to mess with you to the point of fighting just to "prove" them selves especially if they see you as an easy target.

Honestly you should never be fighting unless you are seriously defending your life, or someone else's. Words are words, let him talk all he wants. I have been in many many many fights growing up. I don't regret them all as some I look back on were necessary but 95% of them I do regret.

Just believe in yourself, believe in honor and personal pride, know that your still young and even if they are assholes right now; even assholes grow up eventually.
