I think it is a bit too much to ask for by our hard-working moderators to keep up to date on yet another thread. I do understand where you are coming from when you say that recruitment threads take away from the "Market Discussion". Although, from what I can see, there are only limited amount of topics about the Market itself.

The subtitle for the Market Discussion is:
"Discuss the market and related topics here."

The keywords I see in that are "related topics".Therefore I believe a sub-section to the Market Discussion for recruitment is appropriate because recruitment of members for a business can alter the market in a big way.

When you post, you are discussing something. I'm suggesting a subsection rather than allowing it to be posted in the general section.

There is no conversation or "exchange" of ideas. I don't want this topic to get off track and start into a vocabulary war.

"the action or process of talking about something, typically in order to reach a decision or to exchange ideas."

This can be extremely vague. Although that's besides my point, employment listing deserve enough attention to have its own ability to be a freestanding thread rather than compacting all threads into one.

In response to your thoughts blue, I don't see why having a subsection would be any different than having a topic that only contained user posted resumes. If anything having one single topic would be a lot easier for an employer to sift through multiple resumes to find the best pick. This way it would allow for employers to still have a elaborate hiring threads within a more broad section. I don't see enough activity for it to need it's own section right now.

If that was the case, then this thread would've went in the direction I wanted it to in my original post.

I think this makes sense, and if not, I think a subforum would be more active than we think. There're probably a lot of little businesses looking for people and people looking for businesses that we never even see because they have a hard time meeting as is.

Just a metaphor, not literal. I'm just saying posts get buried. Something needs done with this. Whether it be a sub-forum where a moderator must first see the post and then accepts it to show to the public. Or like I said in OP, have a sticky where the post contains certain job opportunities and such. Make it kind of like the "Request an Avatar" section where they are deleted once updated.

I've always thought the sticky was a half assed way to handle it.

Imo people seeking employment should post in the sticky, and people hiring should be able to post a thread. Preferably these rip off dime a dozen "huehue's questing services" wouldn't be allowed but that's too nitpickey I guess.

A solid compromise that doesn't lead to spam.

Yes, it is a problem for older posts. Every employer feels like bumping their current job opening, its just part of a business. Now, if there was a way for edited posts to appear as bumps just for his specific section (probably not in code, just brainstorming).

Simple solution would be giving hiring/jobs a subsection of its own, albeit will not be totally active but if it looks the pros outweigh the cons, I'm for it. Or just letting employers (after approval) post their own thread.

Having a separate thread for each job listing allows you to quickly see which positions are still open.

I don't see what the problem is with a subsection in Market Discussion, it'd only make things more organized.

Maybe there should be a section for employment / looking for work threads instead of having them in the market discussion forum

i don't think there should be a subsection... rename market discussion to something else if idiots want to be pedantic, the section is pretty much dead atm, this will breathe life into it - a subsection would be stupid as fuck

"All that is complex is not useful. All that is useful is simple."

one section that incorporates job listings is the smarter choice, nobody even discusses the market atm, and I doubt having an active section would stifle discussion

Supporting a subforum. Makes it just so much easier. what is the actual downside, even if it may be not the most used subforum ever?
