I have a toshiba a135-s2276 laptop.Whenever I plugged the ac adapter in about 2 weeks ago,it would work but it would have to be in a certain position and if you moved AT ALL it would stop charging the battery and the computer. When the ac adapter is not plugged into the laptop but into the outlet I can hear a ticking sound inside of the ac adapter.Im pretty sure this is a problem with the ac adapter not the jack. Also, do you think if I call up Toshiba and reason with them they will send me another one for free?Because my warranty is out. So what do you guys think? Now I tried a different cord with the ac adapter and it still makes the ticking while plugged into the outlet.Whether or not its plugged in the computer.

Call Toshiba, they should go through a troubleshooting process with you to figure out what part is broken even though you don't have a warentee. You should be able to purchase a replacement part right then also.

But I dont think I should have to buy one,I should get a free one.

If the warranty period is over, why would you be entitled to a free replacement part regardless of whether or not it is your fault.

Because it wasnt my fault and it shouldnt break within a year and a half anyhow.Im calling tommorow.
