That's hilarious. Besides the fact a poor, innocent girl had to have her life taken away by two pigs, you're asking some person that most likely does not exist to help? That's the ultimate proof God doesn't exist

Oh please don't try and make it seem like Religion is the fault.
Religion is NOT to blame in this situation, the parent's ignorance is. Not ONCE in the bible, or ANY other religious teachings (dependent on your faith) does it ever state you will be Healed by God if you pray, so it was absurd in the first place for anyone to think that... this is NOT proof at all that God doesn't exist.
This is just a case of complete delusion, the parents are the problem in this scenario :noworry:

What is this "God" of which you speak? Its just really sad that people are brainwashed by religion enough to hurt their own kids. This is why I choose not to follow a religion. Its okay if you guys do, not trying to criticize anyone here.

It's not the religion I'm talking about, it's how the parents lost their own daughter over their own stupidity. And I think they deserve a worse punishment.

    Have You Heard About This?

It's extremely dangerous. When beliefs are based on things which are unprovable (downright silly things..) nothing is wrong. Logic isn't something that can be relied on. Morality can't be relied on (Religion spews false morality).

Say that you're a Religious man. A White Supremacist comes up to you and tries to pour hate into you. He tells you that God hates blacks and that raping black woman is completely moral (since they're technically animals). What can you say to this guy without being a complete hypocrite?

There's nothing you can say. Both your beliefs are based on complete bullshit, so there's nothing you can do to help the situation. Even if you convert this man to your Religion, fundamentally it's still based on illogical crap.

What can the Religious Community say about this atrocity? Of course they're going to oppose it, but how? Essentially, it's going to be something like this: 'Well you see, our illogical beliefs are right because they're less gross. I mean, our hallucination would never support this. That guy probably wasn't listening to our hallucination.'

    Have You Heard About This?

I'm talking about extremities here, god doesn't heal amputees, he doesn't heal dead people. It get's to a point where it is your own choice... hence the reason he gave us FREE-WILL, he can perform miracles, but to this extent where the person is verging on death and could have been easily prevented from dying I doubt any ammount of prayer will help them come back from that.
Although you are probably atheist and don't believe a word of this, rendering this whole post useless =|

I love it when Religious people are presented with the 'why doesn't God heal amputees' argument. I mean, you have to jump through so many hoops, amirite?

'oh no you see, like, he doesnt do that because of free will and such, and like, yea he heals cancer but not legs cuz its harder and prayer doesnt help like that because god doesnt even why would you, WELL YOUR AN ATHEIST AND YOU DONT EVEN just leave me alone i cant explain i just belive cuz dying doesnt heal amputees because of gods love free will jesus virgian mary aaaaaafHFDHSPIOH OVERLOADDDDDDD'

    No. Just No

I never jumped through any hoops, and I didn't say he heals cancer but not legs "because it's harder", I'm trying to say it's ridiculous to believe in this kind of healing, it should of been up to the parents to help their child and they shouldn't believe god does these kind of miricales.
Personally I only believe in God healing people to a certain extent... maybe mentally and minor physical problems, but anything past that point and I don't think it's legit :/
I'm a pretty loose Christian as well, I don't believe in ANY of the Old testament, and instead I see it as more of a metaphorical section of the bible that can be applied to real life situations. Don't get me wrong, I still live as much as I can by the bible, but things like huge miracle healings by the power of prayer I just cannot believe...

Well, I think that God only heals Mexican boys with three inch penises and blue eyes. He can only heal them when the full moon is up and the witch doctor applies liberal amounts of semen to the left breast of our Virgin Mary statue.

I guess you, me, and the parent's of that dead girl can all be friends now, can't we? We can discuss our various beliefs and drink some tea.

It is, heaps of movies about this as well, like Cassie. the girl who is stuck in her room and she has to pray until her mother lets her out. its shocking how people take it that far.

Guys, there's such thing as 'healthy' religion. There's no 'right' amount to it. I'm not sure you were saying this inpherus, but it seemed you were implying that it was 'too much' Religion or that they took religion 'too far'.

Again, there's no healthy amount to it. Either rationality is good or anything and everything is possible, and the only thing that is certain, is that there is no certainty.

Blacks might be inferior to whites. Rubbing semen on a statue might be good for healing. 'Praying' for health just might be the right thing to do. If you're a Christian and you're saying that the parents were wrong... take a look at your own beliefs. Besides the gut-wrenching ending here, there is no difference between your beliefs and the beliefs of the girl's parents.

I think letting religion or different beliefs decide whether or not we like each other or if we can be friends is retarded. I'm setting aside our differences, and who knows what the future may hold.... >_<

I like how you Christians feel you have the right to ignore passages in the Bible at will. What gives you authoritah to decide which parts of the Bible is right or wrong? If the Bible has flaws like this, what's so great about it?
