I know this is a yes for many, many people. I'm Mahdy. I'm 18 and for the past 3 years, I've been diagnosed with a stomach disease. This year in particular, it got way worse. The past 3 months have been hell. I spent all of November in the hospital. Right when I got discharged, they never told me I'll be having much more stomach pain than usual. They never told me the symptoms would be unbearable.

How many people have felt like giving up, but didn't? How did you get through whatever you were going through? I need some more motivation, a little more confidence boost. I can't deal with this shit anymore. And I know I'm just a newbie here, but I spend most of my time on other forums to escape from the current life I live. I won't bore any of you with it, though.

I won't lie, there are days where I hate my life. There are days where I wish I could just die already. The pain, the diarrhea, everything that comes with this shit makes me hate it all more and more. I just.. It just gets hard. I could use someone; Anyone.

Thanks to those who actually took the time to read this.

Keep your chin up, and just remember that you are betteroff than plenty of others :p

Hopefully you will get through it as strong as ever!

Do you not take painkillers? If you have a disease where pain is associated with it, you usually are given painkillers to control the pain. Correct me if Im wrong.

Getting these meds will definitely ease your mind, unless you are already given them?

Hey Mahdy, sorry to hear what you've been going through. I've had my own problems, mostly mental rather than physical and I've been severely depressed, sort of at the stage you are, feeling as though I wanted to give up, not live.

All I can say is, my story is pretty fucked up, my life before now has been pretty rough. But I'm still here, and I'm glad I am, because it's made me a better person. I'm more resilient, more grateful for what I have, happier to be alive than ever.

Just remember, life wont give you more than you can handle, and you absolutely can get through every obstacle it throws at you. Don't give up :)

Music is my escape and I wouldn't be here without it, music can get you through everything. Just surround yourself with people who make you happy, and you'll be distracted from how you feel. If you're going through hell, keep going ^_^

My Skype is RoaryNZ if you ever want to chat to take your mind off things.

The ones I have now do not help at all. I have to see my doctor, however they don't prescribe any because they don't want me getting "addicted". Little do they know how much the pain actually hurts. Also, whenever I take mine my brothers just start judging me and calling me pill popper so I stopped.

I haven't personally because I am too stubborn to do so. No matter how hard life has kicked me I always have stood back up. Its hard to fight the urges to give in, however when you do so and you work through all the disease and such it will make you feel amazing to have gone through it all.

Honestly, what matters more, what your brothers say or how you feel? I know it can hurt when someone in your family says "oh you're probably faking so you get more pills" like my sister has said to me, but if you show them that you can take those pills and live a normal life then what they say is totally irrelevant.

Seriously, you've clearly been brought down by this disease to a point of giving up, their words shouldn't matter.

Also if what you're taking doesn't work, then ask for a referal to a pain managment place. There they help getting the right med and also are very cautious around med abuse. Some people have to take painmeds for the rest of their lives and this is where they are mostly sent.

Hi sir, I am 18 and have been through a similar situation. I had a problem which I couldnt accept my appearance, was something pretty much personal. I am not fat, nor very ugly to be honest. But it was hard going through the days and watching myself at the mirror.

I am very sorry you're going through this, but you can't give up, not yet! Life puts you in hard situations which you will get over if you have the will. It was hard for me, but I did succeed and now I am happy as I never was before. Enjoy your family, share times with them and be with them now if you can.

I will leave you some motivational quotes that I hope they help:

"Challenges are what makes life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful."

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us."

"When life gets you down sometimes you just have to pull yourself up and beat all of the odds."

"When life gets you down, sometimes you just have to put it in God's hands and pray for the best."

Very sorry to hear about what you are going through, wish you all the best and keep fighting it, you'll come out on top :)

Don't spend to much time on the computer. It's really bad for you, and it'll turn you into a zombie. Pick up a hobby, occupy your mind with something other than the computer. I know it's hard, but if you want to feel better that's what you have to do. The more you focus on the pain and everything bad in life the more your going to feel that way. What kind of things do you like to do? If you can't do your normal hobbies, pick up something new, do you like writing? Start writing stories about what you're going through, make a song. Think about what you're life would be like if you weren't unhappy. The more you focus about everything that's going wrong, the more you're going to hate yourself. Start writing in a journal everyday about how you feel and what you want to accomplish, and then work on accomplishing those goals.

I was sent to one before when I got discharged from the hospital but they wouldn't accept me because they didn't accept my health insurance.

I went to the doctor Wednesday, he prescribed me stronger pain medicine and when I went to the pharmacy to pick them up the pharmacist said my health insurance won't cover for them and I have to pay $155. (My family is not wealthy at all, so I just left)

I write stories and songs about my life. December 31st, 2010 was the day I got diagnosed with my stomach disease so December 31st of 2012 (a few days ago), I spent two hours writing a story about my life.

Oh Damn.
What country do you live in Mahdy?
For example here is something you can do;

1. Talk to your pharmacist first, about a Generic Version of the drug, which tend to be more affordable.

2. Many companies have drug assistance programs available. This may take some detective work on your part, as you will need to find out the name of the company which makes the drug, and get a phone number for patient-related concerns.

3. Apply for Medicaid. Medicaid is described as "a jointly-funded, Federal-State health insurance program for certain low-income and needy people." Criteria for acceptance into the Medicaid program is not based on income alone, and varies by state. You will want to contact the agency in your state to help you determine if you qualify, and if your prescription medications will be covered.

4. Ask your doctor for SAMPLES. Explain your situation and most doctors will give you a couple hand full of samples.

I myself could barely afford my medication. It was averaging about 600-700$ per month, mostly which my parents had to pay. However my medication was for my mental health which is a bit different. I don't doubt they have the same thing when it comes to other medications that you clearly need. If none of the things I've listed help, then you need to start calling around. Keep calling untill someone gives you the info you need because IT IS OUT THERE, it just has to be found.

I am sorry to here about you problem. :( I have had those days where I just wanted to give up, but you shouldn't. You should think of the good things in your life when you think about giving up

Everyday...I feel like being dead would be much more peaceful than living this life. But, ehh...gotta pull through.

What does it matter if your brothers call you a "Pill Popper" I get that a lot for just taking my Anti-Depressants + Anxiety meds. If you ever need someone to vent to feel free to add my Skype when ever.

Have you tried going on a different diet? You need to specify what stomach diseaese you have..is it chrons or stomach ulcers or what? Do you have a C-bag?

My advice would be talk to your GP or search for a change in diet and see if that helps, a paleo diet, juice fast or water fast might help you out alot and you can get back out there enjoying life. Good luck Mahdy. Ignore you brothers they sound arrogant and ignorant, deffenitly go to a different GP and ask for stronger meds or see if you can get a Marijuana Medical Card if you live in the US.

Hey Mahdy! I am so sorry that you need to go through all of these. There will be many times when you feel like giving up, when the fire just keeps raging on and on and you got to fight every second of your life.

Its tiring and I totally understand you.

Try to look up and think positively! Take this as a lesson for your life to never to give up no matter how tough the going might get. I look forward to your full recovery!
