Have gold prices crashed again?

Below you can find a weekly chart of online OSRS players since its release (source: misplaceditems), and since june there has not been an increase in players yet.

My guess: gold is going to drop further, because the amount of gold in game is only increasing whilst the player base is stagnating/dropping. There might be a peak during summer but in the long term I expect a downward trend. It is obvious that Runescape's main target group has little to no interest in Runescape as they play other games like minecraft. The only reason this game is still here is because of the veteran runescape players, who will soon or later quit the game.

 

Demand alone does not increase prices. It has to do with stock as well.

 

It's because odds staking is starting to be come out of fashion now, a load of accounts got banned apparently

 

A handful of my friends just dumped a few b for 1.4/m today and yesterday, lots of people are freaking out about the crashing price which is only taking it lower and lower.

 

Heard that if you sell gold to merchers they pay less, should not be a big difference in buying gold.

 

As good as gold crashing is it just means that services are more expensive :/

 

I think prices will stay the same as they are now.

There's a MASSIVE dupe going on right now with the platinium tokens. Billions of GP are being duped at this very moment (There was a dupe involving rat pits, but another one hasn't been patched yet)

 

~70b entered the game over a period of 2 months....

they need to control their GP or ban users with allot of money...

RS GP value will continue to go down, every year it will be less than the year b4.

I think glitches played a huge part in recent crash.Dupe, corp glitch, possible another dupe.

On the other hand, i think the gold will keep crashing and crashing, because 07 doesnt attract brand new noobs.Mostly veterans are ones playing, thats why the number of players should keep decreasing.

 

Most likely a dupe and due to that some people also panic in the market making gold price crash even more. Hard to believe in crash like this would happen without a dupe and massive amounts of gold entering the market.
