Have been asked to cash a unauthorized check

Explanation of the trade:
Was asked my Qazi to cash a $20,000 check. Asked a few questions but didn't think to much of it told him no and moved on, next day he had asked again and sent me a recording of him depositing one of the checks, as well as the check he wanted me to cash. I questioned it more and had asked if i called these people on the checks will they confirm which he said yes.
Upon messaging one and calling another, they were not the ones to allow these checks, both froze their bank accounts, and said no not to cash these checks. Making this report as if i did cash these checks, id probably end up getting arrested and having to pay this money back. Not sure what this would warrant but I know hes messaged others about this too (whom i warned as well)

How they scammed: Who knows how many people they have done this with to get these checks, but this is more bringing to the attention of whats going on. Qazi was building some accounts for me, have had multiple issues with these accounts but assuming with the report thatll be chalked

Brother it's not mine check that's belong to my friend he asking me to convert into crypto and i am contact with my friend who have bank accounts in America just this is the reason i talk about these checks i am not scamming with any old guy in and i don't know who these guys and i am even never contact with in my life

I would potentially believe he didn't know what was going on, but why was I lied to about who these people were?

When I asked about the people on the checks, it was said one was the owner of the company, and the other a friend from collage, whom he has done a few transactions with. All to attempt to comfort me about the situation and get me to cash the checks. With that, I find it hard to believe he didn't at least have some knowledge about what was going on, and the risk he was putting on the people he was asking to do this.

 

Brother I am really sorry about that i only know about whole thing my cousin asked me it's fair money when i asked you to get exchange currency into crypto i don't know who guy these checks belong so please try to understand me i am not scamming with anyone
