- We’ve made a number of technical changes to the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon resource area which will make frost dragon killing harder and less profitable for bots, without impacting upon the experience of legitimate players. This is just the first in a series of initiatives we’re taking to tackle bots for good.
On October 17, 2011 the mechanics to Frost Dragons received an update. They were given a ranged attack, similar to Mithril Dragons, as well as a new rebounding effect. When fighting Frost Dragons, a small blue orb will appear and start circling the dragon. It is important that you do NOT attack while the orb is out, as it will rebound any damage you would've dealt back to yourself 100%. Therefore, it is important that you have your auto-retaliate switched OFF when fighting these dragons. The orb will circle 3 times before it disappears, after which you can resume killing your dragon. With this update, cannons have become an unwise choice. This makes frost dragons a tougher monster to fight, but should not heavily hinder any legitimate player trying to kill them.
I decided to buy 14m worth of frost dragon bones just now, or 1k, as it would be unwise to use cannons, which makes it loads harder to get frost dragon bones. I bet they'll rise, eventually at least.
