I agree that something should be done about this, a lot of the scammers that I see banned appear to be created in 2010 or earlier but with their only activity being within the past couple of weeks.

Another suggestion could be to make post count/join date invisible to the public.

That way the credibility of a user would be determined solely on his/her vouches or general reputation in the community. It would also give users no reason to spam.

It's wrong for people to say 'Oh you have only 17 posts and I have 400, therefore you go first' but I am sure it happens all of the time.
