..::INTRODUCTION::..
Hello, and welcome to my Guide to Effectively Creating a Guide. This is meant to be a response to many other guides that I, and other members, see all around Sythe.org. Many guides, as many of us already know, lack the required information to make them somewhat useful :mad:.

Which brings me to my purpose for writing this guide. Here I will be teaching you none other than how to make a guide that will be eye catching, well written, and (above all) informative. Hopefully this guide will weed out any uninformative, poorly arranged, eyesores that infest many Sythe.org guide sections. I also hope that this helps anyone writing, or thinking about writing, a guide to better understand what everyone is looking for :D.

..::TOPIC CHIOCE::..
The first and most important thing you need to pay attention to is your topic. When choosing a topic you need to choose wisely. Think about what you want to write about :idea:. I will use an example. Imagine that I want to write a guide on How to Access the Herblore Skill. The first thing you would want to do is to elaborate on the three W's. WHAT is the herblore skill? WHERE the skill is located, can be used, accessed, etc? WHY would you want the herblore skill? You must fill out and fully answer all three W's throughout the course of the guide. If you can successfully answer the main "no-duh-questions" then you know you have an informative guide :cool:.

..::FIRST APPEAL::..
As I've already stated above, guides must be eye catching :nuts:. No one likes to click a thread link only to be disappointed with a plain, black and white (blue and white for Sythe.org), unorganized guide :(. These guides generally become eyesores to try and read, simply because they are boring and are very hard to pay attention to. The longer a guide is, if its written like this, the less interested your audience will be. To fix this isn't hard at all. Start with the arrangement of the text. You need to have section titles to better organize the information you wish to present. My first three sections are titled Introduction, Topic Chioce, and First Appeal. This makes it much easier to file things into section catagories. If you are planning on having a very lengthy guide, you may want to use a table of contents (be careful not to make the table too hard to understand :sick:). The next thing that will appeal to readers is the overall topic appeal. That is the color and the pictures. Since I have no pictures on this guide, I use an ample amount of smilies to keep readers focused and to make the guide more eye catching :p. Color is also important. Use colors that are "eye candy." Those are yellows, reds, blues, pinks, greens, and oranges. Whites, blacks, and other very bright or very dark colors are too hard or not interesting too read >_<.

..::INFORMATION::..
Stay on topic! I can't tell you how annoying it is to be reading a guide about buying and selling on the Grand Exchange, only to be taken off on a limb about where to use the items you bought =@. It has no revelance to the subject and guide, therefore it shouldn't be included. If you really need to say something about that, then just make another guide o_O! When you make a topic, try to stay as close as you can without moving to another subject or guide topic.

Also, when stating information from other sources, quote and give credit to where you got the information from. If you don't, its called plagarism and you can be banned from Sythe.org (and in school/work conditions, fined/arrested).

..::FINAL NOTE::..
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding this guide, its arragement/information/spelling/grammer :embar:, etc., then please post here and I will answer/change/alter anything that may be wrong.

Thank you, and I really hope that this guide helps you to better write your own guides in the future.

You may post now :D.

This guide is nothing compared to mine. Quite frankly its completely worse.
If any "how to write a guide" were to get stickied it would be this one:

edit: btw spamming your guide with useless icons and bright colors doesn't make it good.

Yea ooh soz i clicked the reort button...

/sarcasm

Awsome guide layout yourself, it was a little hard on my eyes with the blue, but other than that it was a great guide thanks :)

Lol owned. Btw nice try reporting me for "advertising" Nathan moved it directly to the archives cause your a little baby crying about it. The reason it won't get stickied is not because dark doesn't like, its because its a horrible guide. Stop trying to get into the UE, its pathetic.

I am in the UE, i got kicked out because dark wants his ideal situation and he told pen to drop me because he personally didnt like me. jobs are about personally feelings...

That contradicts itself. If you got kicked out, then your not in the UE, as simple as that. The Dark, I don't know, PROBABLY kicked you out not because he doesn't like you, maybe because your guides suck?
