[Guide] How to make a Fire without using matches or a lighter [Guide]

Method 1:

Items needed:

Steel Wool(The finer the better)
Batteries(9Volt works the best.)



Okay it is pretty simple.
Get the Steel wool and then rub the battery fast.you should get a spark.Now blow on it and it should get bigger.Just keep it going and you should be good.

Congratz,You have a fire.

Method 2:

Items needed:
Knife
Magnizeium bar(can be bought at wal-mart)


This is also simple.
Get the knife and the bar,and hit the bar with the knife until it sparks,once it sparks put it on something you want to burn,duh lol
(this method might take a wile as the fire does not catch as often as method 1)


Method 3: (i must advise you this is very dangerious,and my friend went to this hospital because i told him to try this)

Items needed:
Car battery
Car
Pencil.

Okay,put the car battery at the eraser end and the lead tip of the pencil. hook the car battery to the car(dur dur dur) and you will have a nice flame going.

Steel woll is generally used in wookwork and can be bought in hardware stores such as Lowes, Home Depot, or Ace.

I also know that Wal-Mart carries it.

In terms of how it actually, works, you get a 9/10. The guide itself however is lacking. It seems like this would take you 2 seconds to not only google but put this guide together. I'm not entirely sure on how you can broaden this topic though, as it is very specific. Maybe create a guide relating to combustion in general, and provide many different techniques on how to light stuff on fire without using matches or a lighter. I know that combustion engineers figured out how to use ice and paper to make fire, so there are many creative techniques. If you broaden the topic, correct some of the grammar, and in general just add more, it would be better.

As for now, it's no more than a 2/10. It's just too short and simple.

There are alot of videos on youtube like this,i saw one if you use ice+salt,it catches on fire..it was sick.

Steel wool is what you scrub your dirty pans with.

 

This is rather interesting (or I wouldn't really be checking this). Nice details on where to get stuffs. But rather lacking details of what are things like for steel wool in example. I was about to search it, but good that someone here already mentioned what it is. Nice guide though. 7/10 I guess.
