Guests can view the User Educator section and rip our guides?

Could you possibly make it so Guests can't view the User Educator section?

It's the same with other sections and thats why they get scammed

Other forums are popular and when 'Guests' to try click a thread it asks them to login

I don't know about this, it would be just as easy someone to make an account on here and then just rip stuff, wouldn't make a big difference imo... Unless it was made so that only people with a certain amount of posts could view it, but that wouldn't really be fair.

As it seems like a good suggestion, Julian has a good point. It really does not take long to sign up and just go view the guide, and setting a post requirement wouldn't help, because, well, some of the guides there are to help new users, which couldn't view it without the sufficient amount of post. Sorry. No support from me.

 

I support this for all sections really. Some people add me to trade and they say they not registered on sythe etc.

 

Support, as long as there's a post count in this section.

 

To be honest I can't say I support this. They most likely find the guides by Googleing. If they can't view the guides, they will leave the site instant. If then can view them, they will perhaps see that there is a good collection of guides here.
That would probably make them join the site.

Also, they can't view the BB code without registering. Basicly, it would be easier to register an account to rip instead of adding all the bold text and colours.

Plus if people on other sites check for rippers, sythe will pop up very fast... >_>.

 

Regarding the ripping of things. People are going to rip things regardless of if they can do it as a guest or a member.

Doing what you are suggesting would only decrease Sythe's traffic...

Well, they might as well sign up for a Sythe account. We get more members and our guides don't get stolen.

 

I support this. I don't want anyone ripping our guides and putting them on another site.
