GP Donations

I reckon it would work and I would love to see it happen

Also I don't think it would be a bad idea opening up one big gold shop on sythe run by some of the staff willing to do it.

 

Think it would just be easier for everyone if people just sold the gold on their own then donated.

 

Not really as they don't accept donations via paypal, and that is why half of this community haven't donate just like me.

If I could donate via paypal I would willingly donate over 50 - 100 dollars.

 

Well not really considering the only reason why people don't donate now is because Sythe doesn't accept PayPal and this could solve that issue.

 

ninja'd but yes, it actually makes it twice as hard where as donating gold would be easier and you are contributing something to the site.

 

Who's going to buy gold via western union? I certainly would not wanna wait days if not weeks for my gold

 

Sythe and Matthew don't accept PayPal but there's a few other people who do such as FireZ etc. A trusted member could easily help with the shop.

 

What do you mean, I'm sure a staff member would run this and sell it receiving the money through paypal, it was just sythe didnt want to deal with the donations being charged back etc.

I know it could be trouble still but wasn't it already done before?

 

If some one trusted would be willing to do that it may work and I am not sure how it was done before I was not around way back then.

 

I donated my $5 through Firez (using paypal), just a heads up.

No support. I think that jagex will be paying much more attention to RWT'ing, and sythe members donating ( giving free gold) to one character on runescape is going to look suspicious.

 

Can be easily diversed by using several mule accounts.

 

We might be getting ahead of ourselves... no-one's 100% sure if it's going to be "Free" trade like it was 3 years ago. I'm sure Jagex wouldn't have wasted those years combating RWT only to allow it again. They're obviously implementing new ways of catching out RWT, or else 3 years would just go down the drain.

This should be considered when the "Free" trade update is actually put back into the game. It's too early to say at the moment.

 

eh it is complicated to how it would work, but I think I could figure out a way to make it effective.

Would you run this beside paypal donations at the same time? And would it all be done by only 1 person?

but its also for Wilderness isnt it, people are gonna vote for YES for it, unless its two different votes?

 

Maybe it could work like this, as I've seen somebody post it could take time/effort to sell it.

If gold is worth $5 per mill;
Person donates the gold to Mathew (for example);
Mathew then sells the gold at a discounted price (say $3) to a different gold seller shop (R2Pleasent for example);
The amount the gold seller pays for the gold is the amount you will be recognized to have donated. (Donate 10mill, you receive $30 donator).

This way, the gold seller doesn't have to work to get gold, the gold seller still makes profit ($15 in the case above), it doesn't take a great deal more effort to sell the gold, and gold donations become available.

Obviously the donator would know what the price they would essentially get for their gold in order to make sure their happy with it.

Just my idea to how this could work.
