Why WOULDN'T the common ancestor of apes and humans have evolved into something so advanced?

Why not?

The similarities between apes and humans FAR outstrip the similarities between other animals and humans.

 

I don't exactly believe in the theory of evolution.
It doesn't seem to we intelligent humans, would evolve from something as apes, and we may be related to them, but we didn't have to actaully evolve from apes.

 

Again, we didn't evolve from them, we evolved from a common ancestor. How else would we be related?

 

What kind of common ancestor? And how did we evolve from a common ancestor? Is that just an assumption, a theory, or has there been hard core proof?

We can be related, because GOD, created the world like that, where somethings had the similar genes and cells.

 

I again its a theory anyway...not like its written in stone. Still whales, elephants..snakes...act like humans.....

I believe that SOMETHING exists, whether it be A god, or GodS. For one main reason, think back to ANY era, ancient Rome, Greek, Egypt, they all believed in gods. Ofcourse all different gods, but the same idea. In this i think there must be something, possibly another god other than me?

How did we evolve? Do you not understand how evolution works, or what?

A theory is actually better than a fact, in science. A theory is something that unites several facts, explains them, and makes predictions.

There has been reasonable proof, such as fossils, our genetic similarity (which only reasonably makes sense through evolution).

Why would God create humans and apes in such a way that we appeared related? Such would be the mark of a deceiving God.

 

Not sayign that I believe this, but a god wants you to truely believe. It is a lot harder when all this evidence going aganist him is hitting you from ever angle.

 

How is it deceiving God? Why not? I wouldn't think it would be against the laws of God or anything. Some animals in our world today, are obviously related, why can't we?

Fossils? Of what? Something half man and something half ape? That could not be true. It might just be something to scientists, to encourage the theory of evolution.

 

It is not an example of man decieving God, but an example of God decieving man. Why would God make the Earth appear to be 4.55 billion years old if it wasn't?

The evidence makes the Earth look to be around 4.55 billion years old (various forms of radiometric dating, etc.). Literal Creationists would have us believe that the Earth is 6,000 years old.

I'm tired of hearing "it better then facts" "Its amazing" blah blah blah. One...its not better then a fact, or evidence..which you don't have, every piece of evidence you have can also be used to make an argument that God is real.

 

In science, the word theory means something slightly different than it does in the everyday, simplified language of most people.

What pieces of evidence that I have showed support the argument for God's existence? Don't even START getting into the whole "irreducible complexity" argument, I've been going over that in my biology classes for the past three weeks, and frankly, I'm sick of it.

 

Mmhmmm. But there's a huge gap, possibly in the bible that we do not of. Read the bible, and you'll see. Most Creationists do believe that, I do not why.

Stick around this thread and maybe you'll learn something. For example, you say how did dinosaurs exist? Well the christian point of view is that either: a. they lived and became exticnt in the 6,000 years earth has been around or b. They never existed. The truth, or rather the most likely option is c. Dinasaurs lived millions of years before intelligent humans. They evolved and adapted to the earth as continents shifted and climates changed. They eventually became extict(by what we do not know for certain. Likely a meteor in my opinion).
