Does anyone use gloves for lifting weights, if not why? I see a lot of ridicule for people who do. What is wrong with not wanting callus on your hands?
Gloves are a good option if you need soft hands to service your boy friend, otherwise leave them at home and be proud of yor callouses.

I still home gym so I don't have to deal with any of that crap but I use them when I dead lift and row because my hands give out before my strength gives out. I don't understand the macho attitude about gloves, some even say that they reduce your gains lol.
My hands are oily so it slides with the bar, and unless the dumbbells have metal grip, it's the same issue. I used to go to my local recreational center for the gym, but it got too crowded so I branched out to Baileys. Some random told me i'll get stronger if I don't use gloves lmfao, I just looked at him and laughed. It's amazing how easily brainwashed these meat heads are.
I honestly think that without the gloves, your grip will gradually get stronger and firmer. Don't ever go with gloves, but definitely get some straps that you can put on your wrist and you can use the strap to wrap around the dumbbell. I don't know how to explain it, but that's what people do at the gyms here.My hands are oily so it slides with the bar, and unless the dumbbells have metal grip, it's the same issue. I worked out without gloves for a while, and although I got callouses, they weren't too bad. My friends then bought me a pair of gloves, and I found that they were more comfortable, and I had more control over the weight, so I've stuck with them since.
