Ok, lets just start pointing fingers. Actually Europe has a problem with it to, so lets stop pointing fingers and just help. Its really not that hard

    global warming -

    global warming is nothing whatsoever.
Polar ice caps may be melting, but all of this happened before, hence the ice age. The earth goes through and through normal cycles one day they may be extraordinarily high or low. I do not agree with people who say that global warming is coming.

There is no way to stop global warming..

Yet there is a way to delay it..
    its called.. global cooling..
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_cooling

If we can prompt that.. we can basically even out our damages.. and slow it down.. or actaulyl give us even more time to live..

One way or another, wer are fuxed. If we do stop, then were going to have to spend billions of dollars on new technology that will help us in a clean way, and if we dont, then NIGGA PLZ.

Could we get a little better explanation as to what's gonna happen other than "NIGGA PLZ"? Because from what I've seen we are NOT contributing to the warming trend (if you even call it that seeing as how we've seen a raise in temp of only 1.5 degrees in the past 50 years and are still 6-9 degrees away from where we were 6000 years ago.) Frankly, people who say humans are going to destroy the earth with their carbon emissions, probably havn't done any research.

If it's for school, and you need to write up a report, feel free to use mine. I just wrote two, one supporting it and the other talking about its negative factors. We were required to write it in a newspaper article form, this is not copy-pasted, it is my own writing (it's not spam from wikipedia).

Here are the pictures of it, as posting the plain text version is very boring. If you want the word documents, PM me and I can send them via MSN.

I just thought it might be of some good :). Hope it helped.

This basically goes back to how selfish you are. If you do not care about the future generations, then you minus well keep going the way you are going and not try making it any better or finding alternative fuels; because its effect will not fall on us. If you do care, and you are not selfish, then you should worry about it and try to find ways to prolong the time it will take before its full effect comes in; and of course, not make it worse.

If we limit our CO2 emissions gradually (which we are), then global warming will be no problem.

For some quick info, lightning strikes actually emit O3 which repairs the Ozone layer. I read it in my physics book =P.

Basically, by limiting our CO2 over time, the Ozone layer will grow back and all will be well.

There is no need to cut all CO2 and gas emissions, just to limit it until they are at a respectable level.

i try not to worry, i dont think i can help as one. If we wanted to make a big "attack" on global warming, allmost everyone would have to stop. GL getting the bigger nations to stop driving everywhere etc, Nuclear plants for power and so on.

Global Warming - Should we worry about it now?

Well, theres a few issues with global warming,
    1) CO2 has a higher atomic mass than the surrounding air, meaning unless propelled, it falls, when propelled it will decelerate until it begins to fall, blanketing the earth along with other heavier gases. The most we will ever do with CO2 from cars is irritate people's throats. This blanket isn't high enough up in the atmosphere to cause a green house effect.

    2) Tectonic plates move, nobody takes into account that the north pole gets more south each year, and the south pole moves more north. Causing their average temperatures to rise (DUH). There are also east and west movements yes, but those are irrelevant.

    3) All evidence collected of CO2 pre 1970's is at the earth surface, we don't know the specs for the air, therefore we can't assume how little/much there was accurately, and that data cannot be used to estimate the amount of CO2 in the air.

    4) Experiments haven't (or I haven't seen them) been done to prove or disprove global warming effect on smaller scale of somewhere on the earth. It jumped from theory to fact using pseudo-science and lame lines like "Do you really wanna bet on the earth". Well I sure do, because I have a royal flush.

    5) The fact that they use lame lines to try to guilt you into joining their cause should have raised flags for you immediately. If its a truly scientific discovery, you wouldn't need to guilt people to join, people would join because we need to stop. People who scare others like this is why our society is currently limited in its knowledge expansion, along with religion. Pseudo-scientists in lab coats are running around and its making our real scientific minds have to waste their time to disprove all of the stupid statements/beliefs they are publishing as fact. Just because nobody has proven it not to exist doesn't mean it exists.

Thank you for the inspiring thought regarding the subject. Honestly, if you have no opinion on it gtfo.

Meh, now I'm flustered and i don't know what to say that I havn't already said.

Golbal warming isn't human induced. Cycles, not life threatning, etc, etc.

Too big of a deal is made out of global warming, the full effects won't take place for 100 years, and by then technology will easily solve the problem. All that will happen is the weather will get a little worse and a few animal species will die.

Global Warming - Should we worry about it now?

If things keep going the way they are, we should see substantial effects of global warming somewhere around 50-100 years from now.

According to the Mayan calendar, yes.

Yes, we will die. But on the other hand, if we prevent global warming from getting any worse we will lose all civilization as it is today. That is too much for humanity to ask.
