    [APPROVED]Get rid of unused Sythe social media
    There is a bar listing several social media accounts at the very bottom of Sythe webpages. Other than the Discord server, they're totally inactive. Having a negligible social media presence looks worse than having none at all, so I propose closing these or getting someone to run them regularly.

    Think might make sense to cut facebook/IG and recruit some volunteers to manage Reddit/Twitter. Those are a little more anonymous so might get better participation there.

    I guess at some point this would’ve have made sense as SM is the biggest platform for advertising right now. I think if anything if we really wanted new people the platform that Sythe should run off is stream ads and reddit.

    I don’t even know why we’d have a Instagram. What’re we sharing photos of? Scamming?

    I have attempted so many times to get control over them or get the password reset or anything, annoyed multiple admins and so on and haven't made single a bit progress, essentially this is not CDT fault.

    an easier solution would to just have a new one made as much of pain as that sounds.

    where I stand on this suggestion? I don't care either way :p

    A large problem that the PR team faced, and that many other black market sites face with trying to advertise on social media, is that people just aren't willing to associate their public social media with sites like Sythe.

    Further, Sythe has no advertising budget, which means that a lot of attempts to grow Sythe social media are either funded by people on development teams, by sponsorships, or growth is attempted organically. All of which have long since proved to fail.

    I support shutting down these social media accounts on the basis of what I said above, and my agreement with this statement:
    Things like the past referral event and general word of mouth have done more advertising work for this site than any of the above social media in my opinion.

    Not too long ago, a (now banned) member registered a reddit account and started advertising my service and attempted to scam people. They are barely used and are just another platform where scammers can pull stuff like that and go unnoticed for a longer while.

    These are all fair points. Running social media accounts actively are a lot of work if you want them to grow. A website like Sythe gains more from website who have other traffic sources linking to their Sythe topics, or vouch topic to get word out about Sythe.

    I know Ryan (n4n0) was running the Facebook one years ago, though if there were other page admins at the time I've no idea (he's sadly no longer with us).

    I guess worse-case if nobody in 2020 on Sythe has access to the old social media platforms then I believe you can just request them to be closed / control handed to you.
