Why would a 718 die with 07 is released @Gracious lol

That literally makes no sense, a 718 is the pre-eoc combat with nex and shit, its not even close to 07 lol.

Sythe said he did a 718 last time, gracious quoted him and said it died because 07 was released, but why would a 718 server die due to 07 being released? their like 6 years of gameplay apart lol, 07 being released shouldn't of damaged a 718 that badly, certainly not enough to kill it like he said, its 2 totally different communitys on 2 totally different ends of the spectrum.

I'm 99.9% sure 07 being released did not kill a 718, Idk if anyone else has input here but it shouldn't of KILLED IT, theres a niche of people who prefer pre eoc & 2013 gameplay.

Whatever reason the last sythe RSPS died, I'd bet money it wasent because of 07.

Even if the RSPS industry took a hit when it was released, 718's would of been the ones that were damaged the least.

Here is a background story, but I think it might be an interesting idea for growing the website.

I use to develop for a Forsaken World private server called Aria, which was the only server of it's kind. The owner paid for someone to get the source files for him and ran the server using iWeb, then put the work into creating tools to modify the client data quickly. He hired me to be a monkey, and I took files from other games developed by Perfect World (the creators of Forsaken World) because their mounts & certain items were compatible. We changed EXP rates and key features in the game to make it easier to obtain content, similar to setting up a Runescape private server.

Forsaken World is a cash-shop game, which has people that have paid thousands of dollars on the retail server. I put in around 13,000 USD into the game before working on this private server. I ran the PVP for the top guilds on the game, which typically consisted of mass battling of around 100-200 people per guild for server events. There were people that I talked to every day on TeamSpeak/Ventrillo for nearly three years; that spent anywhere from 10k-200k USD on the game. Yes, several people have spent nearly $200,000, if not more, in the game. The value I brought to him was knowledge about Forsaken World. After playing the retail and having connections with the entire server; I brought experience that he needed to successfully make the private server.

The unique part of the private server was that we had zero competitors because no one else had access to the custom tools and FW server files. When the owner of Aria randomly chose FW for its graphics and opened it, a ton of people swarmed to the server. I believe at one point we had over 1,000 active players, and it was hugely profitable. The owner/head developer claimed to purchase a $30,000 server after two months of its release.

What is the point I'm trying to make?

If your new team focused on opening up private servers for games that don't already have a large group of servers; you'd find vast expansions opportunities for the community. It is both profitable and relatively easy to setup. Your crew just needs to get the source files, which can be found on public websites. I'll be willing to provide a lot of information that could prove useful, but I don't want to spend all night wasting your time. This is just an idea that I believe you should ponder.

Also, finding content that hasn't been released on these games and creating YouTube videos would be an excellent way to bring people to Sythe too. When developing, I found 100+ in-game content that no one knew about. I wasn't smart enough to make this profitable for myself at the time, but I had a YouTube video showing all of the level 4 wings that no one knew about on FW. Without realizing it, that video had over 50k views within a few months, and I never checked it after releasing it. It took me around 10 minutes to release it, and a month later I quit working for Aria. When I started making more arena videos for FW, I realized that my level 4 wing video went "viral".
