    Game Engine

    Hello everyone...
I just recently logged on here to see how things were going in the cheating community, and i noticed the possibility of a sythe.org mmo.

now these are my ideas, if you like them... peachy.

OGRE - ogre is an object oriented graphics rendering engine. It uses linear algebra to implement graphics in a complex 3d coordinate system... lucky for those using it, the complex math has already been done and all we have to do is specify what we want and where. (www.ogre3d.org)
objects such as houses landscape and sprites are easily implemented (when i say easily, i mean mean not as hard as writing it from scratch) using their respected mesh files. This rendering engine is open source, so it can be used for production.

BLENDER - blender is a 3d modeling and animation program that allows for the creation of complex 3d figures. blender files can be fairly easily implemented with OGRE

    ---The Idea ---
1)First thing is first, a few people who are fairly good at coding in c++ or c. since c is the most powerful and versatile programming language out there, c would be (in my mind) the most logical of all places to begin. Since compadability is an issue, everyone would need the same version of OGRE.

(i have V 1.47 i believe, and im running on ubuntu with g++ and code blocks, so i could make this project linux compatible? )
-some of these people would need to do the graphics side
-others would need to do logistics and databasing
---*** the c coders have to be decent!!!
---*** if you dont know how to make functions return values then you need
---*** to study up if you would want to be part of this

2)Now we need those amazing blender character designers. I for one SUCK at this. I bought a book on it and everything and im horrible. i tried to draw an egg plant and it looked like a lamp post. If you are an artist and can manipulate 3d figures in blender we would need you! We would need just as many blender people as coders.

I would say if you wanted to be part of this well... most of you are on summer break, rent some books from the library and learn.

What does everyone think? Lets get a solid base on how the game would come together and then we can begin.

(i would love to be an active member in this project, and i can do as much as possible but im taking full time classes at college and i work to... pay bills... so i would probably max out at like 15 hrs a week... which is much better than nothing)

    thoughts? ideas? contributions?

LETS GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!

I am a 3D Animator and have some experience with blender so if I'm needed I'm always here.

Realm Crafter would be awesome to use for low-poly models and easy to use scripting. I have a copy of it too for any of the GameDevs :)

I guess i missed the part about a game maker. I would think that for the best results and the most control, creating the game from practically scratch would be the best way to go. (practically because i think a pre-made library would work wonders, and writing one of those would be a BEE-OTCH)
