So im going into 9th grade and well my friends, there just utter idiots. I know this is rude to say, but this is help for me. One of them couldn't even delete a desktop icon *facepalm*. Its not there stupidty that I highly dislike, its that there stuck up. Its not just my friends either, everyone thinks there the shit in my grade. If a boy talks to a girl its not to be friends ever, they only flirt. So I highly dislike talking to girls because I just don't feel like flirting. Also my friends there just so dull their lives= facebook+cod. I do play sports, I am active. Guys I understand, I sound like a dick for saying all of this but let me reiterate that im tired of them. Their not even good friends. The reason why I posted this is I hang out alot with my sister's friends their seniors. I like them alot more then my immature friends that think with their dicks. So should I try and find new friends that are older in highschool? Or stick with my age and still try and hang with my friends. I would also try to find people that are more mature at my age, its extremly hard though. I understand that I must sound like im whining, but I've had enough with them. Also they are bad friends forgot to add that =) as in they don't care about you.

Idk if this will be much help as I don't have this problem nor have I ever, but I love trying to give advice on the Sythe forums, so here goes. Personally I think you should try hanging out with your sisters friends as much as possible. It might sound like you're getting needy or whatever but honestly if you hang out with them and you act as mature as they are, without having a dull personality, there wouldn't be any reason for them not to like you and I'm going to be a Junior in about a week and Last year, I hung out with a few seniors and there was a large amount of parties that I went to that was mostly upper classmen and I got to meet a lot of new people that were super chill and down to earth. The freshman at my school seem to be really stuck up as well and I think it might just be their "immature high school ego" kicking in. I really hope ANY if not MOST of this information helped.

Ahh hanging with my sisters friends are cool and all when their at my house but im not going to go out of my way to hang with them you know? Im going to try find some more down to earth people as you said it, but only like a year or two older. Thats because well seniors leave next year *jealous* and three years is too far of a gap. Also I do plan on getting straight A's (easy I usually sleep during classes), playing two sports (soccer and lax ftw), and being clean (never had a problem with that).

Same thing happens to me, except a bit differently.

This last year, Some of the people I ate lunch with were just plain boring, didn't play any sports, and all they did was talk about video games. This was because they were the people in my classes, and kind of the nerd stereotype from all honors classes, and there was nobody else in my lunch in my grade...
So I pretty much tried to avoid lunch.

Anyways: the past few months and this summer iv been hanging out with people that are a bit more interesting, and they all play sports etc.

I suggest you just find a new group of friends in your grade.

I suggest "exploring the playground" for a new group of friends. Find a group or just on, that you think will relate to you and understand you well. I have never had your problem but I understand that it can be seriously annoying to hang out with people who you done even like. I suggest talking to girls, I'm one of those guys that talks to every girl, I don't flirt (always) and I'm not saying they all like me, but every girl in my school knows me and I know them. I find (personally) that girls are a lot easier to get along with. They're less judgmental and most of the time more fun.

If you enjoy hangin out with your siblings friends then do ?

Hang around with people your age. Not everyone your grade is a "stuck up idiot" so be friends with those who aren't. Your exaggerating when you say everyone in your grade is like this, if that's how you see it, than your a stuck up individual as well. Also, not everyone is good with computers, I bet the friend that wasn't able to delete a desktop icon is new to computers and doesn't have a computer. Just make new friends, thats all. Don't hang around with older kids, I find that to never work. Something bad will always happen in the end.

your not the only one.
im also in the same situation. but in my case all my good sporty mates go to another school. i just suggest maybe try make new friends, i know how you feel man and i wish you the best of luck.

Friends are very important in life. They help you get through tough times, and they also make the good times good. It sounds like your a year or two older then your friends maturity wise. I would recommend being friends with everyone! Continue being friends with your school mates, but don't let their immaturity get to you - just leave the room or find someone else to hang around with. As for your older friends, try hanging out with them more. Remember: the friends you make now are most likely going to stay with you the rest of your life, so sort them out wisely. :) Here's a very important tip: find friends that you can trust with anything. Trust is extremely important in a friendship.

Yes im exaggerating. I thought you would understand that, but you seem more critical then advice giving. I understand why you would question all of this, but I have looked at it from their side. Im not some idiot that just judges people without thinking of them. They are selfish bastards thats all I can say. The friend that couldn't delete a desktop icon was an example of their "genius" brains. They think their smart too which is just annoying. Their logic is hilarious. I was just talking about a group of friends that I usually hang out. I have a few nice ones that I don't talk to as much, but im starting to hang out with them more. The most annoying part is their brains are always on one topic "sex". They get nothing yet their still just as stuckup. If I liked a girl they would seriously go for the girl just to annoy me. Im excited for college so I can meet people who actually are down to earth. Don't ever call me stuck up, I think of people all the time. I think of what would hurt their feelings. Why do you think im not naming people? Yet not one of my friends are on this forums so it doesn't matter.

You don't actually depend on anyone to live HAPPY. So just be with whoever you want to.

Simple yet effective.

You sound bored and fed up, maybe you should take a break from your elementary friends and find some high school friends. This happens to everyone, everyone grows up at a different pace and you're just a bit ahead then your friends and that's no ones fault. Take a break, wait until school starts and decide when you walk into your high school and see if you want to be their alone on the first day or with your friends.

When you get into high school your gonna meet a lot of different people, and i'd be surprised if you don't make new friends, so don't worry about it but just don't totally get rid of the ones you have now

This.

Don't totally tell your old friends that you don't want to speak to them anymore, that will just hurt their feelings and cause bad tension. You'll eventually all drift apart, but it's nice to still be able to walk past them in the hall way and give them a smile.
