Free Graphics Subsection

I support. I'm in favor of anything that will help the community and newer members to the gfx section. There's been complaints above of this possibly being unneeded because of the activity of the section already. A new free gfx subsection could possibly spark more activity and draw more people into learning gfx like x339.

 

Being a subsection it isn't cluttering anything or making the section look unused, so there wouldn't be any problems with it being "inactive" per se.

I think it's a good idea, people can get some free signatures if they can't afford one and new graphic artists can gather some samples to start new threads.

 

Agreed/support, practice makes perfect and often times one can Google a GFX forum and take their activity elsewhere if they're looking for a clan-related script, etc. Which doesn't draw activity to Sythe, rather it defers activity but that's self-explanatory.

 

Support, however not a subsection. As others mentioned, the activity at current isn't high enough to sustain a new section. Simply remove the sticky that disallows free GFX, and maybe make an announcement stating free GFX is once again allowed.

Free gfx requests in the normal marketplace flood it up. That's another bonus to having the section

 

After re-thinking the idea I've decided to support this. The positives for aspiring designers are numerous. If anything we can do a trial run anyways.

 

Support, I'm just worried that it won't be that active.

the more well known will still be used when someone needs for sure quality stuff and the free will help people get started and get into the known area.

Not really taking anything away from ppl already there and helping newbies...why not

There's not many graphics shops to begin with, let alone free ones.

Simply use the current Graphics Marketplace sub-section and tag [FREE] or something in the thread title, whether you're buying or selling.

A thing that can be changed could possibly be the description of the sub-section:

Buy, sell or request Graphic work here.

Or something similar.

The only problem I see coming about this is the fact if a person selling graphics had made a free section, alot of his/her paid customers would decline as he/she was offering graphics for free..

But if it was for the use of rising graphic artists or to expand there skills; then so be it, but other than that I only see a decline on paid graphics.

But, I support this as long its for those who wish to expand there skills with there graphics and gain knowledge throughout.

 

I think it would be great to have something like that. Having people improving their skills would be good, and I'm sure it bring much more attention to the section and most importantly, to a wider range of artists.

 

As long as there wasn't any post count, I don't see why not.
If there was a post count in that section then people would constantly be asking for free graphics.
