Hey... this isnt a fun rank
So, Personally, I have nothing against same-sex couples. I don't care if they get married, have sex, etc etc. but this article I'm "quoting" does talk badly about it, just know I don't have the same views as the person who wrote it.

However, I also do not believe in forcing someone to go against their religious views. If a rastafarian comes to America and can prove he's a rastafarian, it's 100% legal for him to smoke weed. This doesn't work for white people claiming to be a rasta, so don't try it.... But anyway, so they have the freedom to follow their religion. Good deal. But now, Christian religion states that it is a sin for a man to lie with another man the way he lies with a woman. So I think that gives churches the right NOT to marry same-sex couples. I think it should be legal, but I think they should have to do it the same way all non-christians do it... go to a court-house, pay the judge $50, become married.

Now, this bill hasn't been passed yet, but if it passes, it will FORCE churches to marry same-sex couples. Why don't we just force all "jesus-freaks" to sin so they'll believe their going to hell?

The Washington State Legislature is considering passing a bill that would allow same-sex couples in the state to “marry.” This bill is the latest, of course, in the homosexual agenda’s march to abolish the definition of marriage. Normally a bill legalizing same-sex “marriage” would be bad enough. But this bill goes a step farther and poses a clear and present danger to the religious freedom of churches. Section 7 of the SB 6239 says the following:

Consistent with the law against discrimination, chapter 49.60 RCW, no religious organization is required to provide accommodations, facilities, advantages, privileges, services, or goods related to the solemnization or celebration of a marriage unless the organization offers admission, occupancy, or use of those accommodations or facilities to the public for a fee, or offers those advantages, privileges, services, or goods to the public for sale.

Let me break down this legalese. What this bill says is that if a church rents out its facilities for non-members to use for weddings, then it will be forced to allow a same-sex couple to use its facilities for a same-sex “marriage” ceremony. Many, if not most churches, will rent their facilities to members of the public who want to use the church building to get married. Most churches will generally ensure that the people who are using the facilities are not going to use them in a way that is inconsistent with the church’s religious faith and mission. But the State of Washington is considering forcing churches to open their sanctuaries to same-sex “wedding” ceremonies.

Lest you think this is an isolated occurrence, a judge in New Jersey recently ordered that a church must allow its facilities to be used for same-sex “wedding” ceremonies despite the church’s religious beliefs against such relationships. The Judge’s rationale in ordering the church to open its facility to same-sex “weddings” was that the Constitution allows “some intrusion into religious freedom to balance other important societal goals.”

I don't believe in forcing a group to essentially go against their teachings / beliefs.

On your point about Rastafarian's and that it should be legal for them to smoke weed, religion shouldn't be used as a way to circumvent the law, no matter what it is.

I didn't say should, they are, or at least they were once. I'm not sure about now, however. In the early 2000s there was controversy about a rasta that was allowed to smoke weed, but he was indeed allowed to.

Religions that require sacrificing animals can in certain states of the usa, not all of them. In some states it is considered animal cruelty (a felony in fact) to slit a sheep's throat and let it bleed out on a table, in some states its ok as long as its for religious sacrifice.

So maybe rastas are only allowed to smoke weed in certain states? And maybe churches will only have the right to say no to certain people in certain states too.

I believe it's completely unfair to force a church to marry a same-sex couple against its teachings. I'll go further than unfair; it's unconstitutional. I'm okay with same-sex marriage, but not with putting it in front of the laws the country was built on.

I feel the same way about Catholic hospitals being forced to offer abortions.

Well, I'm totally against same-sex marriage as marriage is deprived from religion. I am yet to hear of a religion in which allows same-sex marriage and so, maybe marriage is a belief, because nothing is there? Nothing is different... It's just a piece of paper stating person A and person B have joined together. Why're so many same-sex couples fighting so hard for something that really doesn't have that many benefits? It baffles me so much. I would also like to state that biologically same-sex's shouldn't be joined in sexual activities, they've not been provided the organs needed to re-produce with one another.

There are over 1000 federal benefits for married couples alone.

God, they still think like they're living in the 14th century. Let people be who they are.

I'm not sure who you're talking about here.... Letting the church be who they are and follow their beliefs would be not to force it...

Letting gay couples be who they are could be seen as forcing the church not to be who they are, but they could also just legalize gay marriage but not force churches to do the marriage.

Fuck that, white people can just create their own religions. Now let me show you how I praise the lord:
