Hey guys!

I was just wondering who else likes the final fantasy series? Anybody got a favourite game in the series or a character?

My favourite game is final fantasy 9 because it really takes a ride back to the old medieval type graphics and has some great mini games. My favourite character is definately Vivi because he looks awesome and black mages rock! Also he has a cool hat. lol

I LOVE the ff series, i love their storylines. My favourite Final Fantasy game is FFX because it was the first one i played and i was truely obsorbed into it. I have 250hrs of playing time on it, thats non stop playing, never left it on over night or anything. My favourite character would be Rikku from Final Fantasy X coz shes cool :p.

Yeah my first final fantasy experience was final fantasy X!

I have 6, 8, 9, X, X-2 and XII

love them all

Have you played 7? Everyone says thats the best, i haven't played it though.
I use to be quite the FF7 fan! I loved Yuffie, even though she may have not been as vital as Cid or possibly Vincent throughout the game. Her ultimates owned once you got them though, and are the sole reason I defeated Sephiroth (First try too, I was shocked).

Alas! FF7 has passed me by, I love FFX (Just defeated Yunalesca by a one-off with Auron (who was on his last lot of health and zombified, all other characters KO'd and all revival choices disasterous!), though Yuna looked a bit ugly in FFX-2 (they could have worked more on her).

Rikku isn't a completely vital character in X, I must admit, though she is my favourite!

I didn't like FF8 for some reason ...

Edit: FFX-2 is far to easy to rig. Example: Yuna's Catnip weapon (9999 dmg when health is critical) and Trigger Happy (multiple attacks depending on how fast you press the triggers) can defeat the last boss through its several stages in like 15-20 minutes, when normally it takes a very long time.

A well written response, I agree that FFX-2 is extremely easy. I beat the game in 13hrs or something with level 33 characters lol. I was extremely disappointed that you could skip parts of the game and then be unable to return to complete them. Otherwise i would have bothered to beat it 100% :(.

I've played ff5 - ff12.

All amazing apart from X-2 which was pure garbage, so was ff12. The best are FF7 and FF8.

They're my favourite game series, along with MGS, PES and COD's.

Between me and my brother We own all the main series of ff but I personally only enjoyed them up to ff8 after that it just turned into garbage in my opinion, My favorite character is either sephiroth from ff7 or agrias from ff tactics.

hey guys sorry i havent been online in a while.

Yeah I heard number 7 was the best one to date, but I never got around to finding it yet. I have 8 and thats pretty fun except it freezes on the first disc at a certain part and it won't go past it. Number 9 is probably the best one I have ever played yet. The 6th in the series is like pokemon graphics lol but I haven't really got far in it, but it has the most playable characters out of any final fantasy game... like 27 or something like that. I still think 9 is the best one I have played so far. I would start playing it again now, but my tv blew up the other day. Extremely upset about that lol.

catchya guys!

FF as a series sucks.

Number 7 was the best on the Playstation 1.

It sucks as a series because each storyline is different. If I just defeated Sephiroth and then Cloud vanishes and Tidus is fighting Sin, would that make sense? xD

To be honest i'm actually getting tired of the repititive training required. I love the story line and i play for that, but the training is rather boring. I hope the next final fantasy will have a more enjoyable battle system.

Yeah the constant training starts to get tiring, but then again, it is the same as runescape... am I not right?

Both good games though.

I own all of them from FF5, 7 was the best story wise maybe not so good with its gameplay though. 12 has probably the best battle script, no more "pokemon" type random encounters, you can actually see your foes. (InB4 IOSYS F.O.E.)

Favorite character would have to be Balthier.

If you don't like the training, get a different game or just read the story. It's always been a part of the FF series to require a bit of a grind, but atleast it isn't like Korean MMO's with their 2 week grindfest to level up once.

@Swan, are you playing again or is it your first time round? Yunalesca was proabably the most troublesome boss, everything else (Main story wise) after her is easy.

I don't mind a bit of training, but recently you require more and more training. Before it'd be maybe an hour training here and there, not like camp at one spot for 5 hrs before you can move on to the next. I believe you should be able to pick up enough experience walking to your next location, and maybe have to train a bit if you want the next boss battle to be easier. FFXII is good that you can auto train in lots of places, i believe the next game should have it too so i can just auto train, and just walk through the game for the story line and those movie things.

I've been able to complete the newer ones with only killing things on the path to the next area. I've done a few side quests in 12 (such as the hunting minigame) but nothing too major since in 12 your fighting power is based more on your weapon strength rather then your level.

No, but I DO need to Wikipedia the plots :p
Tbh I hate JRPG's

If it's turn based and it doesn't have mudkipz then it's fail.

First time through. Second time I fought Yunalesca - I got owned on her first form the first time, but then I figured out her battle habits rather quickly after that.

Edit: I prefer the materia system in FF7 to the Sphere Grid in FFX. It's just a lot better IMO.
