Fake name sellers

Can they be banned please? instead of just locking the thread they can still try and scam some people. Ever since this name release theres been a lot of fake threads.

I have been seeing what you are talking about. If you see somebody who is trying to sell a name they do not own, ask them for proof they own the name. If they cannot provide the proof, create a report in RASC and it will be dealt with accordingly. Its hard to catch everyone because if we ban just off of assumptions then there will be innocent people who could be wrongly banned and of course we don't want that.

 

Oh yeah I totally agree with that. I saw a thread a few moments ago (why I made this thread actually) a mod closed it and was requesting proof. But given the time the thread was open he could have multiple PM's about the name. But I'd say give it a time frame if they don't comply then a ban for attempted scam would be good.

But the guy was smart had the guy (who actually owns the name) pm him for proof.

Just don't want people to get scammed over names which is almost impossible to report once it happens.

 

Or like have a system where you check if the seller actually has the item that's being sold. Such as a high value account or name before hey even can post it just to help prevent fake names. Idk haha just sucks to see people get scammed over names

 

Yeah we definitley will ban/DNT a user if said user does not comply with the request for proof, but at the same time we have to give the user a little leeway room in order for them to see the message and not just ban them on the spot without any evidence or anything. People getting scammed definitely sucks.

Although it sounds like a good idea in theory, implementing this would require a ton of effort and constant monitoring to do so. It also becomes a roadblock for new legitimate sellers and might turn them away from the site.

 

yeah i see where that would be an issue. It would be almost impossible to monitor as theres tons of new people daily. Welp thanks for reading/ responding haha

 

Yes they can be banned if you report them in report a scammer section with proper evidence.
