[Denied] Encouraging usage of discord.id website to check discord accounts info

Increase user's awareness about discord UID's and thus decrease the scamming chances of impersonators.

How? I suggest encouraging the usage of this website Discord Lookup so people have actual reasons to get the UID of someone and check stuff like discord account's age, badges etc; before they actually add someone.

I know users should check every detail provided by Sythe users carefully before they try to add a Discord account to trade etc. But it's not a secret to anyone that there isn't a strong motivation for some to check this info. Letting them know they can find out stuff about this user would probably make them try and get UID's and thus enhance community's awareness.

Maybe staff members can also help us all encouraging this by adding this info in their own words to current stickies if considered helpful, of course.

 

I get what you’re saying but what if they pull up the wrong MAGZ#8039? Multiple accounts can have the same tag.

The reason the UID is useful is cause it’s unique to the account and it’s easier to just right click on the persons name and copy their ID to reveal what it is IMO. Probably a lot easier than going to a website every time as well.

Being said, members should be safe while trading if you’re unaware of basic practices then you shouldn’t be trading.

 

Totally agree about that. Just an extra step to perhaps motivate unaware users into looking the UID. Most people still ignore this and its the most important info a Discord account has, and we will for sure still see this kind of scams in the future. Most people don't use this site and is good to keep track of unwanted people, and to check info about accounts in general. This site checks the UID and displays the info of the account.

So, again, people still need to be careful with info, its just some more awareness and double checking all the time. Good trading practices should always be followed, and adding someone on discord manually typing the input, no matter how careful you are is not. We have seen this in a report made earlier today, that someone added a user using 'a' instead of 'A' and yet thinks he contacted the actual service provider. Don't get me wrong, you are still right, MAGZ, as you can see it was his fault. Totally neglecting every info about scams he could have been given when he joined this site.

I still think people need some tools just to double check on their own they aren't making a mistake, and we as users, service providers, buyers or whatever we are in general encouraging the double check and utility of UID's in a practical way.

 

This site is only to check Discord accounts info in general, badges aren't really useful as a match to distinguish as a clone or not, but the whole profile when you search an ID is.

There are also some sites you can link your discord that can also give a match as the usernames there are unique too. But then again, just good to check stuff that can be sus, like new accounts. That would make people think about it at least twice before going all in.

My suggestion is originally oriented into showing people that UID is not just a number, but that they can do a lot with it inside discord, bot's websites, and places like discord.id and perhaps making the users a bit more motivated into collecting this info more frequently. So, a tutorial would fit better with this info. And expand it as desired of course, with things like tips and tricks such as the usage of
