I don't know how many times I have stressed that, I guess people just post without reading the posts above.

 

Runescape and WoW aren't phsyically addictive, no.. The people who get too addicted to video games enough to ruin their lives aren't mentally stable.

LACED weed, key word being LACED. They aren't dying from the weed... Use your brain.

That's the persons choice, the weed isn't effecting that. Weed lifts your spirits up and makes you a some what happier person, a more relaxed person. If someone actually wants to do something with their life they will, weed doesn't make decisions for you.

Alright, so by your logic if something is legal it's ok to suggest?
Weed is illegal for reasons OTHER than the actual effects of it. It's the same reason why something as dangerous as alcohol remains legal.

 

I have to say I am with the OP on this one. Weed, though not awful as some describe, isn't the first choice to solve problems. As much as one may deny it weed has harmful effects on people. Smoking some weed and relaxing is no way to deal with real world problems, I think actual problem solving should be the way that is encouraged by members. A suggestion like talking to an elder or someone trained to deal with the types of situations. Because a bunch of 12 - 18 year olds aren't going to solve the problem behind your girlfriend breaking up with you, or thoughts of suicide. This requires expertise beyond our current understanding and sitting back and smoking weed isn't going to make it go away. Once you come down from your high that problem will still be there.

 

There have been several posts already in Personal Support asking for help because of weed. Obviously it's just too great for them and they want to stop.... (unfortunately It's hard to project sarcasm in text, but that was sarcasm)

I decided to post here again after someone suggested that one should should get high or drunk before an operation so they didn't care. It's idiots like this that made me post this thread.

 

Eh I'm done defending weed, but I'm still going to defend the fact that this shouldn't be implemented. If someone says "Dude go smoke weed" report them. Because it is spam no matter what it says, it gives no reasons for it.

If someone gives reasons and suggests it then it isn't spam in my opinion. That's how it should be, and that's basically how it already is. Report as spam if they don't give any valid reasons.

Yes, that was their suggestion, just because someone suggests it doesn't mean it's right /wrong.

Just write that it would probably not be a good idea to do that.

 

Why would ever suggest someone to take drugs as a first resort?

 

A lot of my friends do drugs to get high when there depressed but I'm not sure if I should support or not support :/

It's hard because a lot of people do weed when they get depressed and it relaxes them. But also a addiction and every drug has a negative outcome towards using drugs. So my answer is *I don't know*

This thread is just flaming now, tbh any advice you receive over the internet shouldn't be taken as serious as asking say your school counselor for advice.

Okay well i obviously have the wrong definition of flaming lol, but in all reality sythe isnt a place you should be asking for serious advice unless you know your going to get a serious answer. A lot of people who play runescape smoke pot.

Also, not every school has a counselor, and not everyone goes to school here.

People shouldn't be taking advice 100% serious on the internet, but this is a nice place to vent about things and not being judged in real life.
If someone wants to suggest a few things that can help a person out.. Who cares ?

If I were to suggest smoking weed, I would say "Try talking to your doctor to see what they suggest, or try working out more, it relaxes you after you finish and it keeps you fit. Also if you're comfortable with it, try smoking weed once in awhile when you get anxious."


^ That's a valid suggestion as long as it would ACTUALLY help what the person needs help with, report anything that says "Go smoke weed bro".
No one should be suggesting to smoke weed if they're having relationship problems / family problems / school problems. However, if the person is asking how to deal with anxiety / depression / Immense headaches / other pains, it's alright to suggest weed AMONG other things, simply suggesting weed is just spam. That's basically giving the person who needs help NO options what so ever.

This thread should be closed with the above rules, as those rules are already basically in place. It's up to you to report those posts.

 

No support. Cannabis has legitimate medical use in relation to stress, depression, insomnia, and alcohol abuse. Unhelpful/Troll posts should be reported, but I do not believe that the mention of medicinal cannabis use invalidates a post. If you were to disallow suggesting drugs on the premise that they are harmful, than shouldn't any posts containing bad advice be infracted/deleted?

These two posts basically sum up my opinion of this. If someone is making stupid posts by all means report them, but we're not going to categorically ban honest suggestions of a certain nature simply because you disagree with them. If someone makes a suggestion that you disagree with then explain to the user asking for help why it's a bad idea. Allowing just your view to be provided only serves to disadvantage the thread starter by eliminating what could potentially be perfectly fine advice. The fact is that just because you believe something to be a certain way doesn't mean that others aren't entitled to express their own contradicting opinions, or that these opinions are necessarily any less valid than yours.

 

Support, telling someone to take drugs to deal with life isn't really a good, helpful suggestion. If anything you might become addicted and have to spend a good amount of money on something with negative effects on your health.

*waits for people to say weed is not addicting*

I would like to state the fact that I do Support Marijuana BUT I Do think that you are right in some areas. As my previous post had said no support I was misled by what you said. People should only suggest Marijuana for threads such as: Insomnia, Really bad headaches, ect ect. So they should only be allowed to suggest it for reasons that people get their medicinal Marijuana card seeing as how it's the only appropriate time to suggest.
