Eliminating all rares from the game...

Let's use Santa Hats for example. This IS possible. There are absolutely no ways to obtain a Santa Hat that isn't already in the game. What if a very rich player bought all the Santa Hats in the game, then simply dropped them. There'd be 0 in existence. What would Jagex do?

 

I like that question...it really makes me think about what would happen in game.

 

Probably nothing because they didn't intend holiday items to be traded for a high price they were only implimented for fun, which is why they make the new ones untradable so they dont repeat the process.

 

First its almos impossible cause if the Rich Guy Own only 50% of santa in games it would probly raise by 1000% in g.e and santa would be over 300-400M.

What would happen in game? Nothing except 1 item got totaly removed.

But im pretty sure chessy owns 70% of santa's.

 

It'll raise A LOT I think. They won't remove it out of the game.

 

Couldn't it be that some of the really old players achieved the santa hat and then quit? So that means, they still have possession of the santa hat... Chessy doesn't have near 70% of santas.

 

70% of the active santas, I think.

 

If the price was raised a really huge amount(near all of the active items were bought out buy some of the richest players), I'd pay money to see the reaction of someone who hasn't played since they were dropped and had a bunch of them.

 

Then there would be no more active santa's, so to speak. Jagex would do nothing, it's the player's choice what he wants to do with them.

 

No one could accomplish this, but if it were possible, keep 1 and drop the rest.

 

With ge, jagex can add any items they want to game.. So if santa would start being p-hat like item they would do that.

 

You should keep 2 then, if you had a real good friend you would want to share the fun of having said item with, you'll still have one yourself.

 

I doubt anyone has the ability to buy out santas.

 

Once other players caught onto this they wouldn't sell their santas because of the insanely high price value. Jagex wouldn't do anything, this isn't breaking the rules.

 

well i remember few years ago there was lots of santas, in every corner people were selling santas... Now theres less santas in the game i think.. merchanters job.

 

i think the game would be boring without rares..

 

It doesn't seem likely whatsoever I'm sure there are account's long forgotten with possibly ten's of thousands of Santa's on them. Or even people who hoard items with hundreds of Santa's on them there is no way you could "eliminate all rares from the game".

 

You should keep all :O (pretend that u hold 1 ^^)

 

They wouldn't implement them back in if that's what you're getting at.


They have better things to do then worry about "rares"
