E-mail from Jagex

My e-mail to Jagex (sent date 15/02/2011):

I basically tried to bribe Jagex to unban it. I guess they're not as money hungry as people think they are.

Their response (26/09/2011):

The only link in it is a valid link, and the e-mail address is the parents mailbox address.

 

That sounds like an automated response... they weren't even addressing you as "the parents" who emailed them, rather as the actual account owner himself. I think thats proof that Jagex doesn't read their emails. Sounds like an automated response that was triggered by certain keywords in my opinion.

 

They addressed all of the points though, and it came several months later. If it was automated I think it would have been much sooner.

 

Who knows. That sounds like it is written by a machine though and not a human being. Whether it is or not, they obviously did not even read the letter you sent because you were pretending to be your sons mother/father asking to buy the account back for his birthday. They replied to you as if you were the actual account owner himself. I would be less skeptical if they had said something like, "We are sorry sir, but your son violated our rules concerning macros/bots blah blah blah blah". Just my thoughts! Either way, that sucks that they refuse to unban your account. Was it a good account?

 

I also sent one saying that I was the account owner. I just wasn't sure exactly which they were replying to.

 

Ohhh that makes more sense. Anyways man, I didn't mean to start an argument Just wanted to offer my opinon and my thoughts

 

Wonder why the have that disclaimer at the bottom? Do they expect someone to sneak viruses into their emails?

 

I thought Jagex was more money hungry... Guess it depends really.

I'm pretty sure they send that exact e-mail to anyone who tries to email them saying that you're the parent of a childs account.

Glad I am not the only one. That looks 100% machine written to me. I swear I have even seen it before. The unfortunate thing is that if any of my accounts ever got banned, I was planning on sending them an email pretending to be the parents of a distraught child. But I doubt machines have much sympathy for parent's of distraught children:'(

 

Tbh that's the biggest explanation I've ever seen jagex give out.

But if they really cared about bots ruining the game I'm pretty sure they wouldve done something about it rather than a small hand full get banned.

sounds automated definetly.. but yea can you give more insight onto the specific bans of this account?? how many bans for macro just 1 perm macro major ban??
