Never said you were (you're quite gorgeous if anything). Besides, he may not have actually gone on intending to scam, just ended up in a situation of never being able to pay them back,

It's still essentially throwing the value away by tossing it, no Richard won't lose anything but it would be less incentive to come back and perhaps pay people back if you lose your all ranks, some people would probably see that and not bother if they don't lose their "medals" from the site.

I'm starting to wonder if Richard also let undesirable users back because they had no other life outside Sythe and needed it to fuel their need for interacting / socialising with people.

 

If they aren't going to repay because they get some ranks taken away then they likely weren't going to repay anyways so fuck em. The ranks being removed are a result of them not repaying and there would be a warning period where they could start repaying as Chloe said before the ranks were given to someone else/completely stripped, this would also be mainly for people who could not or have decided against paying someone back. Not entirely sure why people still think that we should be accommodating banned users who owe hundreds or thousands.

Well I don't really support letting them back in the first place, even if they're not in the market they may still have the community as what they treasure, so they've essentially got back what they want instead of doing through the pardon process.

What about the potential of getting your stuff back after you pay back the user(s) scammed? Or if that's no longer possible, donate more to the site / to a charity where that money will go to something actually productive.

I am not arguing that letting them back in the first place was a good idea but now that they're here it's not as if things should be easy or even pleasant for most of them when they're just floating around with multiple hundred dollar debts if not more. It's already been stated that they have had ample opportunities to pay back and most of them haven't nor have the even tried. The selling of their ranks when they decide not to pay up is a last resort and if they want to complain about it then maybe they shouldn't be stealing from people in the first place and now they can know how that feels? Difference is the money will be going to paying back the people who were wronged rather than to some greedy scumbag. If they don't like it they know where the door is??
