Yeah I'd support lowering some of the perks. $100 for a coloured UT and then $150 for a UI sounds reasonable. More perks definitely need to be added though. The ideas on that thread are pretty good.

A new rank could be made for $75 donor if this was decided upon.

Yeah that's a decent idea, they won't be all that big for 200x40, there could be a size limit enforced also if bandwidth was an issue.

 

Mods deserve a UI if they chose.

I also donated $300+ so I think that the prices for donations are fine.
If we lower them I'm sure more people would donate alot for the UI then scam.

 

I support that if they lowered i would probably donate a bit more once my stuff was all back in order because ui's would bring in more cash for sythe

 

But a UI doesn't mean trust, the amount donated indicates trust.

 

But some people see it as something big deal like a person stands out more. Like Loveable.

 

We give people the tools to protect themselves, it is their choice if they do it or not. We can't just not do things because people don't read the rules, don't read the newuser guides, don't read the stickies. If they don't read anything and come here then they surely can expect a scam. There are things that are reasonable to restrict because people may use it to scam, but at some point we have to let people provide their own protection.

 

Yeah exactly, newcomers will always be ignorant and get scammed regardless of these peoples donation ranks unfortunately.

One of the benefits for lowering the UI, etc and adding more features is that often people complain about having to donate so much to actually get some decent features. They feel its not quite worth it, so perhaps this will attract more donations.

 

I would be all for lowering the amount of donation required for certain perks.
For example, a UI is definitely something I'd be willing to pay $100 for, but the current prices are deterring me from it. I understand the donation is for supporting the site, but it's nice to have something to show for it.

I do think this would bring in a lot more donations, but it's probably not in the plans of the admins atm to change any donation amounts/perks.

 

I think the cost of UI's is fine. Personally, there should be more variation in perks for higher donators. Doesn't bother me, but may help acquiring more donations.

To be honest, the price of a UT could even be said to be low. UI's should stay at $200 or else it doesn't stay as special. The site doesn't need a influx of donators right now either.

 

UT is fine at $200 in my opinion. I definitely agree for more donation perks for higher donations though.

 

So I was planning on donating. Do you guys think I should wait just go ahead w/ donating now? I don't want to donate now and then find out something got changed later on

Donate now, I doubt much is going to change + you will most likely get the new perks if they are applied.

 

If the current amounts were lowered, the perks would be way more common and therefore be less desireable. I think new incentives should be made available for the 'other amounts' listed e.g. 75$ abd 150$ etc. But lowering what's already there isn't really the way to go.

 

i agree with this think there need to be changes with $200+ because there are no really goals to aim for after $200-300.

also this, is a very good point which i was thinking about also people would just abuse the fact of lowing the donations, make changes for higher donations i approve.

 

There are barely any benefits to go from $200-$300, or even higher. I think some perks should be added if people want to donate even more.
