Doing more to promote verified guide sales?

Hey all,

I was thinking the other day, but a lot of guide customers dont look at the verified section as much as the normal section. Yet at sythe, mods try to increase sales of the guides by verifying them. Now I am not entirely sure what we can do to try promote verified guides. But I don't think that it is fair that the very well made guides get less views than ordinary ones. Perhaps we make a sticky on the homepage or have something like "guide of the week/month" where each of the verified guides get a chance to be in that section. Tell me our thoughts plox?

 

This is a forum or essentially a market to sell guides. Anyone who sells a guide in the verified section basically has a Sythe version of the BBB seal that says they will get what they paid for. As far as I can recall staff have never promoted anything to do with sales on the website, due to the possible negative backlash should they end up accidentally promoting a scammer.

While I like your intentions I don't feel it should be so because of that possibility. Not to mention there always is the conflict of interest where certain users get promoted more than others ECT. Its a similar reason that NASDAQ/TSX/whatever doesn't promote certain stocks.

 

ok then, but what I am saying is that people that have the guide VERIFIED, so it is legitimate, and the guide is legitimate, rather than promoting the actual person. But how about having a thread full of nominations from users on the best guide etc rather than sythe staff choosing? if that makes sense.

I was going to say about the announcement thread^. I'm not really sure what else could be done, as putting it somewhere else would be like "invading" other sections. Also, if one person had something advertised on the Sythe homepage, why wouldn't someone else want that space? There would be alot of jealousy and unfairness come from this. I know where you are coming from though.

 

yeah, hardly anyone reads the announcement thread, I reckon it needs to be a little more obvious perhaps?

 

But what I was saying was, if someone gets their guide advertised, why shouldn't somebody elses shop get advertised? The point I was trying to make was that there would be jealousy that someone else was having some good, free advertising. The words

sum it up well.

I had my youtube subscriber guide verified recently, but ever since it has been verified, sales have been going down and there has been less overall interest which has led me to posting this.

 

We are very strict with the guides we verify so there are not very many new guides being put up. We have discussed methods of increasing Verified guide publicity, though, and are always open to suggestions.
