Does anyone have SEO suggestions?

Not sure if there would be a back lash not even going to try guessing lol. But lets judge from Jagex's current attitude. Sites such as BBB have been advertised by many known yters only action that ik was taken was against the yter and not the site. Also not sure on other game companies rules and regulations on trading, acct training etc.

 

That's exactly what I mean, youtubers would get hit, can Sythe then be sued? If their trying to promote this website, they get hit by the company, that shows a negative impact on the whole idea, and therefore a backlash is possible. Meaning it could be really tricky to want to get youtubers to promote.

I think this could be cool for Sythe because you can filter which games and what channels can embed. Its in a seperate place (Like User Center...I think) and if your SEO is set up right I think it could bring more members. You could make it where guests can watch the streams enticing them to sign up! Just an idea. Ill be looking for other things too

 

everything's a tradeoff, right? i feel like the time/effort/resources it would take to do this would not garner enough additional traffic to make it a worthwhile undertaking

 

It doesnt look that hard to do. All a user has to do is use a very simple BB Code. The front end is managed, I believe, by the plugin. DId you check out the demo?

Well technically, we dont HAVE to be, but look at like this. I am sure there many member on this site that like to stream (but i may be wrong) and a tool like this helps get them out there and at the same time it can drive user traffic, help to keep users on the site longer, and maybe even get guests to take the leap and sign up etc. Its more of a tool to open the community up a bit.

You only need one forum for the livestreaming, so it really wouldnt be in the way, and IF for some reason it pans out to be not that active then just remove it. It could at least be tested especially if I were to make a thread suggesting it and a lot of users give positive feedback.

Work on reducing bounce rate, build more backlinks. Get some actual SEO keywords you can rank for that bring in people, versus "Craigslist of Virtual Goods" that no one is going to really search for - right now the top keywords that bring in traffic are tribot, osbot, and boglagold.

You could probably get a lot of people from Pokemon GO or other markets. Everyone already knows Sythe for RS and the whole virtual goods thing isn't working out. Maybe stop focusing on the market aspect and try to actually get people to use the website for a discussion community, then you will have more people who can participate in the markets.

Richard posted an interesting thing he developed for Pokemon GO that I could see getting hugely popular and bringing a lot of people in. If there was anything that Sythe started putting out, like before, I feel like it would bring in a lot of traffic and a lot of people would hang around.

 

I completely agree man. Im sure you remember just as much as I do how active Sythe was in like 08-09. We need to get that back

You should make a Sythe stream team. Have people stream on twitch using the Pokemon Go client you made. Would bring in a lot of traffic. (Has nothing to do with SEO but I imagine the basis of the change you want is for more traffic/new users)

 

What I could think of would be a big face in the CSGO/LoL community to advertise Sythe as their go-to trading platform. CSGO/LoL usually have an extremely big audience, so it shouldn't be very hard to find somebody with a notable reputation to get that done for cheap.

 

Also, a rule such as 'If you have your own website, and you use Sythe as one of your advertisement platform, you must have some sort of backlink to Sythe via your website.' Would be extremely helpful for SEO and the naked eye.

 

Adjust the url endings to high traffic keywords
Add social media buttons (even if they aren't popular it benefits seo)
Change the main keyword of the website

 

"Sythe Partners". Yes this would be a great idea! There needs to be a way to implement it Like referral links and such. Its a good start

Also, @Sythe, there is HUGE potential in the s PokemonGO Area. For example there are 32 "guests" viewing your SythePoke app right now. Lets use your tool and get something going with it!

 

While on the topic of searching, are you aware that the image that comes up under Suggested Website is of xenForo? Is it possible to change this? I thought your meta would have done just this but maybe it is only for social media:
