Do you think Runescape will ever shutdown?

Depends on the overall response on combat rework, me personally I hate it so much i've quit.

yea of course all companies will come to an end, especially companies that are in the technology field. I would say in a few years but who really knows, its all just a guess.

 

Eventually mate, first signs of its death are selling SoF spins. They want to milk the game for all they can tbh.

This game is way to popular to shut down within the next 5 years. I'd say it has a good 10 years at least.

 

It was shitty 6 years ago, and it's still shitty and continuing, but not prospering nearly as much as it ever had in the past. It'll die off within 5 years (probably and 10 at most), and I've been playing since 2001, botting since 2002.

 

Runescape will stay alive as long as they keep profiting.

 

it will be alive for a long long time guys, as long as they have tens of thousands of people paying membership and visiting their site, which they do, it will stay alive, it will be around for a long long time.

 

A good 10 years till it ends, no way it's going to last for more than 20 years, someone is going to retire, and then hell breaks lose.

 

i think it will be around for a good while... (10+ years) if they keep making money they will always be around... and with record number of members paying there is no reason to believe why it would ever quit.

 

well everyting ends somewhere. a lot of peoples quit runescape for other games like d3 or lol. i think that rs will end when jagex will earn not enough money

Heard they were gonna stop updating it soon? It will never shut down, people will always play IMO

 

If Runescape does get shut down, Jagex will already have a new MMORPG out that is a hit, and everyone will have gone from Runescape to this new game. That's my 2 cents anyways. I don't see them doing that any time soon though.

 

Just looked at the servers and 1k + on like 30 worlds, all p2p. Thats so many players lol, they are a long way from shutting down. + the new combat update will attract more wow type players, bringing more to the already decent playerbase.

In my honest opinion runescape isn't going anywhere and after 11 years, I honestly tihnk its going to only get bigger.

 

I could see rs slowly going to it's death bed if they took f2p away and just went with the two week member trial.

sof was made to provide money for the new combat update. If rs goes under they will sell out. Rs will be here for 10 to 15 more years. They are still green which means they are making bank. No worries
