I think the argument staff make will be somewhat biased because they are already staff and cant see where OP is coming from. Then again there are the people that will agree with anything staff say in order to get a "+1" in their books.

But overall i think OP does have a valid point, although some members that are OMM+staff have worked for it; some wouldnt be in the position they are in without having staff first.

For example i think TBT deserved OMM more than Superman, Superman got OMM almost right after staff while TBT obviously has more vouches and credentials and has been deserving of OMM before Superman IMO (not downing Superman).

Its unfair but its hard to win a debate when going against the people who make the rules, so most people resort to ass kissing in order to get their positions which is the least respectable way to earn a position IMO.

O also, let me let everyone in on a little secret.

Ass kissing generally pisses staff off and you're labeled as a kiss ass.

Those were just examples... he wasn't accusing TBT... He's just saying there's legitimate reasons TBT was denied by the staff.

I have been speaking my opinion, if you think I'm ignorant I have better things to do. I really don't value his opinion because I can't tell if its really his or hes kissing ass as always. the superman comment may have been out of line.

I was ban evader. On my dispute I pointed out that I asked for finn via MSN before I joined. Can't be proved, but I wouldn't like about it. Still, I've always been legit, here and in any other forums I've joined and even get mod.

Also, an issue with a gift card, where I used it. The user had already listed for reselling. I could've easily keep my mouth shut and bought it. I brought Corey to supervise refund(Or payment, as if I was buying it)... somehow disliked me being honest... ^_^ Awesome... I think

You can speak your opinion without being ignorant.

Ah, I'm assuming you now have access to the Upper Staff Lounge where applications are voted on. When it comes down to it, no the community doesn't know the reasons. Sythe is not a transparent community.

Shit happens, move on. 3 years ago when I was trying hard for mod, I didn't get it and I moved on. I didn't sit back and complain about how unfair it was.

You assume you know the real reasons*

Unless you could see the voting thread, you can't say that.

Well, I was told by TBT, then verified with N4N0, so hop off?

The reason is stated above and its much less punishable than something such as what n4n0 did, but he still got staff.

How am I suppose to know this if you don't state it?

Nano was already a global when he came out with what he did, he worked his way up to that position. He then made a pardon, and then came back as a regular user. Staff then decided that he was trustworthy enough to come back to staff.

Normal users look like everyone else.

Moderators have special ranks & a different name color.

The average sythe user would trust a moderator over a normal user by just looking at them, nobody does any real background checks because frankly they don't feel the need to.

EDIT: From a higher up's point of perspective:

Moderators have access to the Staff Lounge, and they're trusted with powers such as deleting posts, changing passwords (global+), infracting users.

... I'm honestly disappointed in this post.

    Anyway,
Mods are appointed up Globals and admins, and if you don't trust their judgement; then honestly, you shouldn't be on this site.

Also, don't need to do background checks? I can not tell you how many people I've got banned who have been "trusted." Including two potential OMM's.. (Well, technically one, Sin beat me to my report on MurderTrain-.-)

    In what current position?

So, you're saying N4N0 should of just never owned up to what he did?

I think staff has more information about me than some (ex-)mods. With my CA application, my OMM applications and pretty much just chatting and getting myself known in the community. Vouches well, I have all type and a great number.

Do you really think I deserve that... people check me just because I'm not mod? Do you really think I can't be trusted with some ridiculous 50M trades just because I don't have a rank? Do you really think is fair it took me more time to get larger trades than to you or cosrob?

You are going into the wrong point. Staff is not just a rank or handing out warnings and infractions. Or you you think of yourself as just a rank and I get the added trust and I can do everything easier now?

If for you is just about that. I honestly, feel sad for you.

The average sythe user uses a MM to trade something of 50M (or less) value. No moderator is going to scam them 50M, so they figure they might as well use a moderator to MM. I'm not saying that they don't need to do background checks, I'm saying that they figure that they don't need to.

The fact of the matter is that just by looking, any user is going to trust a moderator over a normal user. You can't change that no matter how hard you try.
