Devorac VS qwerty

wow qwerty my whole life. but dvorak ... I gotta try one day.

 

qwerty, never even heard of devorac till today. sythe teaches me so many things

 

Qwerty, I have never heard of Dvorak before this thread. I cba to learn all the keys again just for a bit faster typing.

 

I'm agreeing with a few people that have already posted, i wouldn't mind switching from my qwerty but re-learning all the key placements, id be there years.

 

Qwerty.. grew up with it, and will continue to use it.

 

Didn't know.... but i guess it makes sense. Too much to relearn tho.

 

Only ever heard of QWERTY. Maybe I'll switch one day, who knows, maybe Devorac will become the norm in the near future.

 

QWERTY is commonplace, but not nearly as efficient. The whole story behind the QWERTY keyboard is pretty funny, yet smart..

The Dvorak layout was patented in 1936, lol.

I kind of doubt it's going to establish itself anytime soon. It's already had 70 years to do so, but has gotten almost nowhere.

 

Oh, my bad. Didn't read it properly then. From what I gathered, it is said to be more efficient, and is our future not a more effective and efficient one?

 

I have never even heard of devorac, I type pretty fast with qwerty and could never change, im so used to the key placement i dont have to look at the keyboard for anything, i love qwerty <3

 

It is more efficient and effective.
But since when is that criteria to be considered when people's traditions are challenged?
Conclusion is, I wish Dvorak had established itself - but I'm too lazy to do anything about it considering that it hasn't.

 

For personal use i use qwerty

but at work (im a software engineer) we are required to use Devorac ... only because it is more efficient

QWERTY, even though I wish DVORAK was established as the common keyboard, as people say it is much more efficent.

 

Firstly, it's 'Dvorak' not 'Devorak'.

I've never used anything besides QWERTY because I don't like change very much, however, I wouldn't mind trying it out.

 

Grew up with qwerty.

Everything is nearly qwerty.

Can touch type with qwerty.
