[DENIED]Rules on Runescape Services

Below is the current rules, Rule number 6 quotes if you are going to post on a service request thread you must include a quote for service, i believe we should make an amendment to that rule to have it include;

if you are going to post on a service request thread you must include a quote for service and "timeframe for service given."

However that's if we cannot just remove that rule altogether at the end of the day its a forum whats wrong with asking a question?

As my preference would be to remove rule number 6.



[Section Rules] Old School RuneScape Skill Training
For training skills on accounts, the following rules apply:

Rules:

1. It is the trainer's responsibility to disclose to the buyer if the account(s) will be botted on.
2. An explicit refund and returns policy must be defined by the trainer and agreed upon by the buyer (in writing) before services are rendered.
3. In order for a policy to be enforced, the trainer must ensure the buyer has read, understood and agreed to said policy.
4. If the service you offer is outsourced or done by someone other than you, you MUST inform the buyer either through your Terms of Service or in Skype/PM. Failure to follow this rule would grounds for a TWC, market ban, or further consequences.
5. Prior to the start of a service, the service provider MUST inform the customer that any valuables should be removed from the account. Failure to follow this rule may be grounds for a TWC, market ban, or further consequences.
6. If you are going to post on a service request thread, you must include a quote for the service
7. You may not request free skilling, but you may offer it.
8. You may not require or promise a vouch for a service. Vouches should only be given out if the person has done a good service to you.

Failure to comply with the above may result in disputes being awarded to the buyer by default.

Additional Information:

1. Confirm who you are speaking with if trading over Discord. Understand how the unique ID works and double check it before trading at all times. Follow this guide.
2. Check the report a scammer section before trading someone large amounts of RuneScape gold.
3. Take screenshots of usernames you trade including the chat you get it from.
4. If you have been scammed, please make a report here.

Maybe just report the sticky and paste in the updated sentence you want it to reflect?

In my eyes, quotes should include timeframes and whatever other parameters are relevant: "Do my thing for $x within y parameters"

The reason Rule 6 was added was to prevent people from spam posting on any new service that came up.
Example "I can do this for you pm me on Discord @bigheadserviceprovider#5463 UiD: blahblahblah"

To my understanding

 

no support, providing time frames on services can never be reliable as their are many things that can interfere with meeting said time frame, including unexpected irl agendas to handle. ingame server outages, and unexpected hiccups due to the customers account status that result in delays

 

Any account service agreement will have a timeframe attached to it. If you pay someone $50 to do something by Saturday, it should be done by Saturday barring events beyond your control. If servers are down for a day or your customer is playing while you want to train then you work it out over discord or something; failing to provide the work in a reasonable time frame is not acceptable and should explicitly be mentioned in the rules. I'd thought "quote" was enough (assuming quotes are for x price and y duration), but evidently not.

 

Yes i believe that this should just come under spam if the rule was removed, just posting pm me or message me on discord should be considered as spam anyway, but posting a question should be allowed.

yeah that shouldn't need that rule there though people should be just reporting that as spam anyway.

The timeframe can make a big difference, and such service providers should be offering the timeframe reasonable to the request to factor in server or unforeseen issues that can help the Service buyer decide who to purchase their service from.

I believe removal of the rule will not affect the reporting of spam posts, and will improve the service provided to get any questions out without being reported for spam

It's a rule so people don't have to waste staff time reporting spam posts?

Why should staff be required to handle so many spam reports when they could just implement a rule that prevents it.

It also allows for the poster to get competitive rates, and allows them to not have to dm 10 different service providers asking for prices when they can simply do their shopping on their thread.

 

So people are oblivious to the rule i report at least 10+ a day to non understanding, so spam post reports are probably the same amount. I agree with what you are saying however people saying pm me for price should be classed as spam anyway they can pm them that information,.

 

Personally id rather skim through posts on my thread than 10 pms as its much faster.

 

To be clear, you are allowed to ask questions on a thread. The rule is if you're a service provider and you're interested in filling an order, you can't just post a reply saying "add my discord" or something else unhelpful. At a minimum you have to include a price. We don't think it's necessary to put a timeframe, that can be discussed further in private. We won't be changing this rule
