    Good points
I agree it would be cool to have a second option...

However, the only true option I see working out is that you should get a Major Name Change if you become a mod or admin.

I think this is fair because if you are a mod, you already passed most requirements, and will be active on the forum anyway.

I have applied for mod a few times and never got picked, but if I did, I think getting a major name change would be a good perk, even if it doesn’t give you the other perks like a UI

[DENIED] Regarding Usernames - Name Change Suggestion

Yes, a privilege and a perk for those who can afford to throw $300 + donation fee to change a name online. It's discrimination against those who do not have expendable cash.

As for joining Sythe sooner to secure a name, it's not exactly common knowledge that this site exists, especially when you're not as internet savvy in your younger years. I cannot avoid the fact that somebody created an account for what seems to be a month's worth of use back in 2011.

You yourself have changed your name, so saying "Well you should've joined sooner to get the name you wanted" doesn't correlate. You obviously did not sign up with the name that you wanted for whatever reason and you did have the available funds to afford a donation. Majority of users do not.

With that being said, I'm not saying I want the donation status to be removed as the main source of name changes; I just believe that users that have been around for a year+ actively, deserve some perks of their own.

The donation status would still allow you to have your personal name banner etc. but even you wouldn't be able to change your name if you registered & donated now, as it requires a $300 donation rather than a $200 donation (or least so I was told when joining the Sythe Discord and asked about the same issue).

    1) You can get a name change at $200, not $300. You're full of misinformation.
    2) Discriminating? Are you kidding me? I don't intend to be rude, but come on man. You're acting like a snowflake millennial, grow up. I joined Sythe when I was 14. I've been on Sythe for 12+ years. I'm not a trust fund baby IRL, nor do I run a huge business here. I bought and sold casually, waiting patiently, and worked my way up after 12 years to reach $200 donator and just changed my name last month. I earned that perk. Stop bitching and expecting something for nothing. Jeez.

I have a broken shoulder blade, making it really hard to type extensively. This was tough enough, so don't expect another essay response from me.

    1) I asked about the name change in June (I thought it was March, but I was wrong) and this was video's response:

    So my information is correct.

    2) It seems that because you've spent 12 years to be able to get your name changed, you don't want others to gain it easily. This is understandable, but would you not have preferred to be able to change your name after 1 year of active, good quality posting? Or even 3 years? If you've contributed that much time to the site without being banned for whatever reason, you deserve to be able to change your name on it.

As I mentioned before, I'm not opposed to the idea of people donating to change their name, I just don't believe that it should be the only qualifying factor.

As for your shoulder, I'm in the same boat so I sympathise with you. I was recently diagnosed with tendonosis & bursitis with evidence of a subacromial tear in my right shoulder. I've not been able to lift my arm above a certain point since the 13th of January and despite steroid injections and various sessions physiotherapy, I'm feeling very little improvement.

    Wrong. It's the same as it's been. $200 + 1 year or $300 + 6 months.
It has nothing to do with me waiting 12 years. I'm not the center of the universe. It has everything to do with people understanding why it is a donation perk and not an activity perk. Oh, and again, donating isn't the only deciding factor. Account creation time is as well.

Anyways, I've spoken my peace.

Yeah off topic, injuries suck. I hope you heal buddy. I know what you're going through.

    Hard no support,

You can easily earn 200$ to earn the name on sythe it's not difficult at all so there isn't issue about money + 200$ is not alot money at all.

You could also participate in events to get miniranks to sell for money to donate with, essentially allowing you to earn a name change through community involvement.

IDK if "easily" applies to everyone here. I think the idea is actually neat, just a little unrealistic.

Name changes are not intended to be accessible for everyone. For many years, they weren't allowed at all. We eventually rolled them out as a $300 donor perk and we later allowed them as a $200 perk (with an earlier join date requirement). At this time we don't have any plans to change the system further
