As some of you are well aware there is a heavy presence on this forum of people advertising gambling sites. My proposal is quite simple, if a gambling site account is DNT’d/Banned. All the people currently advertising that site in their name, title, signatures etc. should be given a time period to remove said site. Otherwise this gives ample opportunity to simply circumvent the DNT by using 3rd party advertisers.

this does not just have to cover gambling affiliates but ALL discords/websites linked to banned/DNT’d user(s)

while there may already be a rule in place that covers this, I feel it would potentially stop a lot more issues arising for people who are being diverted to said site through 3rd parties.

Somewhat agree, I remember back some time ago there was a guy who owned a gambling website if I recall correctly who turned up at a Sythe staff members work/house and the same with another guy who I believe was Dropperz or something (this was a good few years ago) who did something similar but on the forums and pissed off @Sythe himself

I understand in some cases it's best to not DNT/ban them, but if history is repeating itself then it's not worth the risk. We as advertisers essentially are assisting a DNT/banned user at that point, who is clearly a risk to the community as a whole. And I know when you're banned, your banners at the top/bottom of Sythes forum get removed so this at least in serious cases shouldn't be any different

- Also please remember you need to remove any traces of being able to invite people to banned users servers, like how we can (i've reported previously MANY OF TIMES) with the user titles..

and this is exactly why I think it would be a good implementation. removing all traces of potentially leading someone to a malicious trader is the end goal here.

Yeah I get you, Ace Services look at his user title, although he deleted his server we're still able to click it as if the link was still there...

It's not even like it just stops there either, the continued mockery of the forum at the expense of us continues

A good idea. I think it may protect users from falling into the hands of members who have been banned and making them prey in the hands of these criminals.

I believe this rule covers what you are suggesting.
Posting in the market on behalf of users who are banned or DNT'd is strictly prohibited. Users who are DNT'd or banned also may not have any stake in or ownership over a business, service, or product that is advertised on Sythe. Punishment will be based on the severity of the offense.

But does this cover user titles and signatures? As you can see above, there is a DNT’d users site being advertised through a title, while they are not actively bumping advertising threads, the traffic their profile gets could potentially be diverting people to RH.

@Yoshiki So, would this cover general advertisements / promotions / sponsorships / partnerships / affiliations that are on a Discord server linked to a Sythe User? (like a sythe users main discord that they use to conduct business on sythe, even if the links to the DNT user / their business are not necessarily on their sythe profile / posts)

Notably, this is currently a potential issue with the ongoing reports against RuneHall. As a Donor Sythe User is still supporting / partnering / legitimatizing with them directly and hosting giveaways (that require actual GP / funds purchased at runehall to actually enter) via their Discord server (same discord server that they sell accounts / linked and do business on sythe with).

They are pretty much ignoring the DNT situation right now and claiming that since they haven't been wronged, there is no issue, despite there being 4 scam reports open totalling over 7k USD against them as well as the actual DNT issued.

His reports are still pending which is why the advertisements have not been removed.

From my understanding, DNT users are allowed to buy sponsored channels in discord servers advertised on sythe if the person with the DNT has no debt and is not permanently banned.
The report is still pending so the advertisements are not required to be removed.

Regardless on whether his reports are pending his status is “do not trade” which should mean as a whole because he is a risk to the community until his reports are resolved. otherwise you may aswell not DNT anyone at all until an actual decision has been made on their report.

I remember seeing the announcement post about the guy that showed up at the sythe staff member's place and pissed Richard himself off. Kind of happened some time before the covid pandemic. I hope to never see anything of that mangitude again.

My point exactly, a reputable member, advertising a DNT’d user potentially causing more victims

This is basically why I'm saying +support. While the foremented rule Yoshiki has mentioned does cover that portion of it, the other half is that there's another rule somewhere, cba finding it right now; But it's literally telling all of us that we cannot advertise or trade with anyone that has the DNT rank applied to their username. So my understanding is the rule about cannot advertise or trade w/ anyone with the DNT rank overlooks the specific rule Yoshiki mentions and it should have been in effect as well. So which one is it? If a mod would like to clarify this, I'd like to see that.

There is no rule that prevents regular users from trading users with a DNT. You're free to trade whoever you'd like.
DNT users can not advertise on Sythe.
DNT users are allowed to trade off-site, it's just that they may not use Sythe to trade.

Ahh okay so it's the other way around. I thought it mentioned something similar in the past. Regardless, I think I'm still going to say +support somewhat because of the risk that could potentially be brought into the community.

Support

I believe DNT doesn't carry much weight if allowed to still do business indirectly, supported by trusted sythe users on their own discords and especially not through advertisement on sythe. DNT was originally made to replace permanent bans for scamming and ended up being a lighter punishment with more progressive ideals in mind. It is still scamming in most cases. Scamming still happens as well, and DNT / scamming gambling sites imo shouldn't have any place in the sythe community, they have an image of legitimacy through a website and have the potential of causing a lot more harm to someone than a random scammer that steals some gp or account.

I believe the simple change needed would be “DNT’d users are not allowed to be advertised by anyone, this includes but is not limited to titles, signatures, avatars”
