[Denied] New Keyword Section.

Sythe has been hitting number 1 on google for random things(not in the best light but well done assuming there was no advertising dollars) relating to runescape some are very old threads that have been closed or been made by someone who has been banned/scammers(bad first impression for a new user at a marketplace ime) Other pages have been hit to the second third even 10+ pages back when you search for things like runescape cheating etc on search engines. If a section was created to increase traffic from search engine with stickys/guides of top keywords used in search engines after proper market research and there keyword bid we could be answering common questions nice and easy and increase sythe.org to the first page of search engines without spending a cent.

 

Thank you for the reply. I will have a working proposal in 1 weeks time as I discuss the details with my team. If it makes sense I can revise it with sythe's exact data to maximize new user registration, retention and growth greatly. One thing I want to note about the tremendous potential here is that the official forums for many games (Runescape, world of warcraft) are being outranked by sythe for certain topics such as guides, questions and pvp.

 

Sure I'm not against this but I also doubt that Richard cares enough to clear Sythe's name. After all scammers will always be running around on sites such as these and I'm not really in favor of hiding scam reports or anything bad that damages the name or site.

 

You made an absolutely terrific point what we are seeing right now is most forum board there is going to be a banned user here and there and I agree with you on not hiding these things period. After many years though there are a quite a few banned users that have made posts that rank really really high with search engines, the pattern so far are How-to's, Guides, market place and general questions such as "What is the best bot for Runescape" that are getting to the top of the first page. What are everyone's thoughts on having posts from banned members that rank extremely high for traffic to be remade, redone and updated by someone else? For the reputation/optics side of things branding a tag line with something along the lines of "Original free market place for x amount of years" would be extremely powerful.

 

I agree that reputation isn't really a huge emphasis where development efforts are concerned, it is what it is after all. However, I would still offer my support to the suggestion in hopes that it can subsequently capture more traffic from organic search results. The community could really do with a boost to the activity; new traffic could help with that, and ensuring SEO is focusing on contemporary activity and suppressing ban/scam related negativity is a nice place to start

 

Thank you for the support its very much appreciated. Right now there is massive amounts of "ghost" users people being driven to the website everyday from these searches(hundreds if not thousands during peak times would have to look at the data could be much more) It would be a huge success if Sythe could capture just 2-5% of the daily "ghost" users into creating an account(possible landing page/redirection that shows up for them?). Once we look at the average bans per a month vs new users goals can be set for account registrations. This simple act will support, lead and ultimately drive more donation plus new advertisers while adding to the community long term.
