[DENIED] Name Transfer OMM

So this is something that i proposed on this thread RS Names Trading Sub-Market

I genuinely think that this would be SO beneficial to the Name market!

This would really test the Tech cores ability to really make a great script that is very successful , as well as it will show the support that Sythe.org has to helping better this community/market!

This could also be a nice money maker for the OMM that handles these name transfer services, i do believe tho they should give this to a name transfer'er that is actually doing it right now and is very consistent and has great odds (aka promote a name transfer'er to omm)

You can make this a completely different role?

- the role can be its own with no regard to OMM's, i think it should be very protected though, maybe whoever is deemed trustworthy enough with this script can have access to a VPS which has/host the program that the script it running on, and is not allowed to be accessible to the person using it (the code)

100000% this would bring more people into the market, this "service" you're paying for is not one that is more than account sharing, so i think it would be pretty safe for the users using this service (unless you're buying the name via irl $$) than ofc it is rwt so the rate increases a bit more, but it really only looks like a account sharing situation?

Anyways, the name market has really took a hit the last year with all these pathetic people sniping names, but the thing is, the market never died, it is still huge and there is discords with thousands of people just for names!

No support. Seems like an useless extra rank aimed at specificially one part of RuneScape. Even if it was meant to be added and possible to be used in other games I wouldn’t support it. Sad to see namesniping happen, but all markets have their darksides.

 

We already have an omm rank, if we start making these for every type of trade might as well make "gold trades omm" , "accounts trades omm" , "wow gold omm", and so on, which doesn't make any sense.

 

this isn't a bad suggestion; however, I wouldn't call it OMM. Maybe "Name Transfer Pro" or "Name Transferer". OMM has alot of trust behind the rank on this site, would get confusing who is considered very trustworthy by the site and who really isn't. Name transferers are an important part of name sales and the success of that market, nonetheless.

 

No support. One being that because you know how to transfer, that shouldn't mean you are trustworthy because as we've seen thats not the case. Giving a rank for transferring a name has more negatives than positives in my opinion. I'm more biased because I know this market and I've seen how ugly it is.

Hey Wortel thank you for your input!Sythe.org's main focus is runescape, and i would assume that 90%+ of OMM transactions are related to runescape as well?

Hello, i understand your concern here, but if you're familiar with name trades and how they are conducted, you would know that it sometimes involves an OMM + a name transfer'er. The other "might as wells" do not need another outside source for the trade to be conducted, the OMM handles that part.

Hi, Thank you for your response! I see your concern here, and that is why i've labeled it as a "role" to be given to an OMM rank. Not all OMM's will have the access to the name transferring script, the one with the role will.

GREAT INPUT! This is exactly what i was looking for when posting this suggestion. This is a problem, and i see what the concern is. How can we fix it? Back in my suggestion, i added that i would like the Tech core team to try help out with a script that would produce higher transfer stability/success, which can be tested out with another script trying to "snipe" the name. This would result in perfecting a script that has a very high success transfer rate!

Thank you for the comment! Early in my suggestion i actually mentioned this as being a "role" just like in discord you can have more then 1 role! So this would be an added on role, kind of like how the bond holder position works, it is added onto a user and now people know that that user ALSO offers this service.

Hey bio, unfortunately this is not the truth. Names are still being sniped, and my proposition is to get more people involved and to have more people investigate and tackle this problem! because sadly even with these services offered by private individuals it is still not at 100% accuracy. Can tech core make it 100% accuracy because they are experts in coding? maybe not, but i think there input and expertise can definitely improve whatever is being done atm.

 

This isn't going to be happening for several reasons, most being mentioned above already. Just use best and safe trading practices, use Official Middlemen, and use common sense.
