It really bothers me how much threats you get from this online, Like everytime i win a stake, play private server or kills someone in pvp for example i always get told "i will hack you" or that i will get DDosed.

Also the fact that everything you download can contain virus, I even think that when i was just on a website watching like movies online about 2 or 3 times i've gotten a virus from only a Pop-up. This thread might seem pointless but the point i am trying to get is that do you guys think that the punishment for Hacking or DDosing someone is too low? If i know might have the person who ddosed or hacked me added somewhere so i have somewhat of an idea who the person is, might have the first name or a last name is it possible to get this to court or is it to small? I'm Really getting sick of being hacked all the time even though i got virus protection on and shit doesnt seem to help at all.

 

How you can get ddos'ed and hacked more than once is beyond me..
They'd need your ip for starters and to get hacked they'd need either more information or they'd need to send you something such as a key logger.

The simple answer is, don't use dodgy sites to download things and don't e stupid enough to accept a file com someone online. I have never, ever accepted a file off someone online unless I know them IRL. Also don't go on any sites that I don't know unless I 100% trust the user.

The way to not get hacked is not to be stupid/ignorant.

Adding to the above, if you constantly get DDoSed, then consider getting a VPN.

Not much point in taking someone to court over DDoSing and stuff because its easy for anyone to do it and you take one person down another will just pop up.

 

DDosing is for little kids that can't do anything, they buy their little booter online and think kicking someone offline for 2 minutes is 1337.
You need to be careful when downloading, like I download for kickasstorrents and make sure the item has at least 1k+ seeds and usually 99.9% of the time it's superrr safe.

I used to moderate for a minecraft server and got upwards of 3-5 threats like this a day. (It was a 1000 player server)

What jei jei KK said, For instance with only the skype icon it took me 15 seconds to find your ip adress 168.63.125.*** right? Hidden the last 3 numbers for ur safety;p just google : whatismyip. Just keep urself safe, keep your identity to yourself, don't throw ur skype and email everywhere and u will be safe!

The punishment for hacking/ddosing is actually really harsh. The issue is, it is difficult/impossible to prove. You can't just ring up the police and say you have a virus on your computer, you download malwarebytes and move on.

 

anti virus doesnt help you against ddosing a good idea is to dont put your skype or msn information online you can risk to get hacked or ddosed by doing that and regarding bringing someone to the court. that depends on the law in your country you can probally get the guy jailed if you have evidence.

You're most likely just being threatened by little kids who have no idea what they're even talking about, I wouldn't worry about it. Just a note on those movie streaming sites, I'd avoid them. A friend of mine said he was using a site to stream movies, I asked which one and it was a popular one, and then a few weeks later he was asking me to fix his laptop because he had a virus.
Just be careful what sites you go on if you don't know the risks.

Without reading any of the replies in this thread, DDoSing/Hacking is a real cyber-criminal offence in the real world, however you'd need more proof then just a first or last name to create a case in court.

It's true that there are people out there that are able to DDoS you, for example (from what I've either heard or seen) risker's in the wilderness in either RS or RSPS are DDoSed. A good example is Sparc Mac (saw a vid about it a while ago).

You should see how many threats I get on xbox from 12 year olds, never been ddosed though. Honestly, most of the people who say it are 12 and have no clue how to do it.

I got the fake FBI virus from a random pop-up from just searching on google and had to restore my computer... But as for people mouthing you on an online game, don't sweat it...

Some people are probably nerdy and dumb enough to hack your runescape account... but for someone to be able to hack your runescape account, which would mean figuring out your username (unless ur display name is your user name) your password and your pin number, but the only time they've even met you in game is during a stake... well if they were capable of that, they could also hack into banks and such, which is why I say they would be dumb to be wasting such hacking talent on an online game.
