Custom Non-Tradable Miniranks

Ok so here's my suggestion. :idea:

How about a Non-Tradable Mini rank, fully customized by you, and only meant for you.

It would be some sort of donor perk.

You get one upload and one upload only. NO REDO's .

You would create your own, or get someone to make you a 32 x 32 mini rank of your choosing.

This Minirank would then go through the approval process just like User Images.

(If you say this is too time consuming to review, then just get a specific staff member to strictly be on the look at submissions, Avatar requests, UI requests etc.. It would take alot of work off of other staff)

It would have the same rules as a user image - No mod symbols, nothing inappropriate etc.

I just think it would be another cool, fun little perk to be added for donors

 

Wouldn't this take away from users who've donated and have a custom rank? Seems a bit silly to me. (What donor tier would this classify as?)

*Now buying the rights to a custom mini-rank and being able to grant it to certain users would be an idea..

 

This actually seems like a good idea, support.

 

Support if this was made for like $500+ Donors, yes it would take time but for people that have donated that amount they deserve something special no doubt.

 

I don't see the harm, but I also don't see the point. Either way sure, if it pulls in more donors why not.

 

This sounds like a very reasonable, pragmatic perk for $500-$1000+ donors. But I think it's only Sythe and Matthew that can upload mini-ranks since they require server access, so they'd have to be onboard with the extra work involved.

 

Sorry, got.off my desktop. But ok, how come we can upload our own smaller avatars before becoming donors. Cant they make a secret section for staff to hit accept or decline in the new xen to let the photo pass or not?

I think this should be for $250+ donors. If it isn't tradeable then it wouldn't affect much. It just means more donations.

 

I actually think adding it to the $100 donor level would be nice. At $200 you get a custom UI and $300+ you get a custom rank, which imo is rarer / more prestigious than a minirank. Choosing either a prizebox or a non-tradable custom mini would be a really fun idea, and would encourage more users to donate. I think that donating $100 is much easier for many members who use the site, compared to $300+.

I'm only in support of this though if there is an easy way for it to be implemented and for minis to be "accepted". Doesn't make much sense to waste a ton of time on it for it not to work.

 

I don't know about this. There are already tons of miniranks I don't see the point in adding even more. I do think higher level donors should get more benefits.

One or more of the following benefits would be better imo:
Removal of 10 second wait time between posts
Larger signature
Removal of 30 second wait time between searches

 

This is already a perk basically. You get two custom 32x32 images for $300+ donors.

 

This would require the creation of separate user groups for higher donors, which is something Matthew and Richard are both adamantly against doing.

 

In vBulletin that's true. I was aiming at Xenforo. Not entirely sure if it's easier to do in Xenforo.

 

This seems like a fun thing to implement, but it might indeed be too much work to do. I would love a carrot as minirank.

 

Either I or someone else suggested this, but it got shutdown for some reason. I like this idea for $500+ donors so that the minirank directory doesn't become a chapter book.

Somebody did suggest this in the past and it was denied. Personally I don't like the idea unless there's going to be a very limited amount. So if it was 500+ donors sure

No larger sigs, though. they're spam as it is.
