    Creating your own scripts. Less likely ban?

    So my question is if I was to code my own scripts and do not share them with anyone am I more likely to avoid getting banned?

    yes. if many people is using the same script the ban rate will go up. but if you use a private script the ban rate will be lower ;)

    Yes because no one else will be following same patterns as you. You'll have a unique script which is always good.

    I stick with the notion that if a script is coded well/properly (which I'd say more made by well-known script writers are), then user count should be an irrelevant when accounting for bans.

    However another way to look at it would be, more users = more more data points for Jagex to look for a pattern to ban by sort of thing, assuming that's how they operate.

    But there are TONS of scripts, (even 100% open source ones) with multiple 100s and even some with upwards of 1k users which work very well and produce great results for their users.

    it's not easy to make a script if your not experienced in that field of code. though nobody knows exactly how jagex detects botting - but how can you really change a pattern if your doing something that consists of the same paths/actions?

    If you code it well yes. If you have no knowledge of coding then you won't go anywhere.

    Its probably the same percentage as using a free script that everyone else uses.

    This is incorrect. A script can be good but almost never completely random. Jagex bans people regarding their patterns and comparing that with other people. If only 5 people use a script then the chance of getting banned on that script is really small (unless a mods walks by and obviously sees you botting) But they wont detect the pattern as easily compared to a script with 100+ users. Even if the overused script is coded better the banrate will still be higher (to some degree ofcourse)

    If you code the script without bugs that get flagged and it was a spot/method you came up with yourself that's away from the mainstream bots that helps a lot.
