Create a void service and account rental subforum

Currently this is all under "other services." I suggest making "Void & Account Rental Services" separate or rearranging the subforums

It's pretty clear that the vast majority of the threads in this section are either void or account rentals and I think it merits a label besides "other services" so that people browsing the site can see the page. Otherwise, it's pretty easy to skip through.

I understand that there are many subforums for services, but these threads are pretty active. Also, I'm up for debate about rearranging how these subforums are organized and which are grouped together.

A possible suggestion by Ghast:

Removing those two services will render the section dead - I don't see too much of anything else being advertised there currently - so I don't think that both of them should be removed. But I do agree that the services subforums could be reorganized - maybe having fire capes and questing as their own sections and then creating a new minigames section that includes defenders, torsos, and pest control (while leaving account rentals as part of other services, but maybe specifying it in the header as "Account Rentals and Other Services" for the sake of clarity).

Edit: Actually, after looking at the thread count for all the rental services and seeing how inactive the "account upgrades" subforum is, maybe the two could switch places

 

I agree with Meteor. A reorganization of this subforum with minigames as its own section would be great.

I agree the section in general needs a bit of a cleanup, although I'm not sure that moving void/account rentals to another section is the best way to go about doing that.

Just throwing ideas out there, but maybe group void into the defenders/torsos section and leave account rentals as is? Combined with more stringent moderation (ie. moving all the threads for just pest control into the right subforum) will bring that section to a less cluttered state while still being appropriately active imo.

 

I like this arrangement, as long as what is included in the parenthesis is included in the heading. The goal is so that someone scrolling through the forum will know which one to click without having to do guess-work as to where's what

Agreed, puts it more accurately. Defender services aren't common, this would clean it up a bit. Six subforums is a bit more though :l

 

There are currently 5 sub forums. There would be six, but fire cape & kiln services is not broken into 2 secondary sub forums.

 

I think it should be called "Account Rentals and Other Services" since 90% of the posts there are account rentals. But otherwise looks much better/cleaner.

Just to piggyback on this thread a little, the Fire/Kiln Cape section definitely needs to be cleaned up regardless of if any of the other subforums get changed. Currently the "RS3" Fire/Kiln Cape category has lots of OSRS posts in it. And even the stickies there contradict themselves:

If you think that's bad, not one person sells Rs3 BA but a number of well known members advertise it in the Rs3 section.

Nitpicky minor details imo. The main header is what is understood, the subheader isn't super important, really.

@Ghast, Apologies, mistyped what I meant to say. I was trying to say that 6 subsection seems a bit much. Five I think is about the maximum, but ideally 4. Six just seems like it's overflowing with subforums, and that it is overpacked. Not sure if there is a way around it on this one.

One way to reduce subsections/subforums would be to separate OSRS and RS3 into two forums (similar to the current format of the Account sales forums), then merging together some RS3 subsections that aren't very active:

True. Up in the air if its better to clog one forum with a bunch of subforums, or if it's worth splitting it into 2 forums to clean up the subforums. Not sure really >.<

 

As someone who has been looking for pest control services, I would find this very useful. Support from me.

 

I'm still awaiting assistance with the structure of http://www.sythe.org/user-services/ from another Admin. I'll keep this in mind when I have that smoothed over.

 

Bump. I think if a deadman/darkscape section was released in a few days I think this can be done as well and is pretty important
