As for the "naming the skin after the person", would it be possible to get a footer link instead linking to my web development portfolio? I'd do the coding for anyone anyway, but this would be a nice addition.

Oh I didn't create the actual skin for the current development site, it's just the default Instead I created the new large site header and the new Sythe.org logo to fit within the existing default template.

 

I would help out as many people as I can unfortunately I actually work to support myself and my woman, so I can help out a person or two but it all depends on how much we drink and as she just got back and we've been drinking like a drain it doesn't seem like I can even do one person.

 

Oh, so wait when you say the default, do you mean you basically one of the current Sythe.org themes just it was adapted to vB4?

Don't bother with VB4... you can preorder VB5 atm. Order that instead and you have access to vb3/4/5.

Sythe and Matthew been preparing for vB4 for months, you most likely no idea how much work has gone into it. As for vB5, it doesn't look very appealing at the moment, at to be honest vB4 looks like our next best bet for Sythe.org

Also, we need to remember that when I new VB version comes out, it's normally filled with bugs and we can't risk a database and trading site as big as ours get hacked.

This pretty much, VB4 is most definitely customizable enough for our needs while being secure.

 

Well the thing is the VB5 license will work for 4 and under apparently so its not a half bad idea to get one for 5 and then just use 4 until 5 can have a stable RC.

 

This does make a lot of sense honestly. That way you don't have to mess with it when a stable vB 5 is out, but we probably wouldn't use it until like 2020...

 

Support this. Why not just buy the vb5 license? It includes vb4 in it, so we can still use vb4, but it will make it so that the transfer from vb4 to vb5 (whenever this is) will be easier. Plus, we kill two birds with one license.

You're looking into at least 2-3 days of 5-8 hours a day to make a new theme for a forum.

I would be interested in doing this, only if I am guaranteed a link back to my website (even if I don't win, link to a supporters page and mention my name/website on it)

if I win, link directly in the footer like "Custom theme designed by mywebsite.com for sythe.org"


Anyone can guarantee that for me?

Don't mean to sound prudent but I have a lot of work and to do this kind of thing I'd be putting in work and would like that at least.
