Competition: Vb4 skin for Sythe.org [Prizes]

Well there are over 350 unique areas in the basic VB style so I would imagine this one has over 400 areas. Some are simple colors/sizes/fonts but you would have to make some buttons, so you are probably looking at a minimum of a 5 hour project if you want to quickly scrape something together. If you had an idea to base it off of and then differentiate then it might go quicker.

 

Best of luck to anyone who can get it done, it's good to see that Sythe is moving forward.

Do you think you can upload the style the website uses somewhere, I have a vb4 on my computer and I could try to port it over even manually perhaps.

 

Are these the type of things donations go to? If so I feel MUCH better about donating seeing that our money would actually go toward something that benefits EVERYONE. I really do agree with Grave though. I think that if there are no entries by the end of this month, don't extend the competition (unless somone specifically asks for a bit more time to finish an entry) because any added time after would just be delaying the vb4 which we are all waiting for.

No, it would be stupid to implement a new update because they always have flaws. This is the reason they waited so long with VB4, it had to be stable.
Sythe has too many user details to allow a possible hack with a weak new vb version.

I'm in, only problem I have is that I can code for sh*t.
Is there any tutorial that I could use? Or is it possible just to create the visuals and have someone else implement the code?

 

A large portion of this is editing pretty tiny images that the code will stretch ( for example http://puu.sh/15CKA is actually only 1 pixel wide and stretched with CSS
You can probably make some pretty major modifications by just opening and editing images that come in the next-gen theme inside Photoshop but you can't make any huge changes without learning the code
However I don't think it's practical at all unless Sythe links us to a RAR of the nextgen theme or something of the sort
