Yup. Gave up after lack of awareness by the team. Nothing new, seen it happen time after time. Acted as if my Connect 4 idea was ridiculous, AKA it would actually require some effort by them but they'd rather sit back and hoard the CDT badge and do jack squat. Not all of you CDT members, but many of you are guilty of this - whether it be active CDT or previous CDT.

We literally had a C4 tournament way back when.

And to build on this, my C4 idea was not truly considered. All BB said was there is a risk of cheating, like that isn't a risk with literally any other event. Its fucking Connect Four, no matter what 'bot' you use, it gives 0 advantage. It's like cheating at Tic-Tac-Toe for god's sake. (in response to Poat saying all the ideas were responded to. Go check page 28-30, that's bullshit. I responded to his response of cheating, and was never once responded back to.

So Izad is right that suggestions are looked over / ignored.

 

Ironically the c4 tournament was hosted a couple of days ago on discord.

They argue that they haven’t hosted new events because the community hasn’t suggested anything, which is completely untrue. One could believe that the development would come up with unique ideas on their own as creativity is part of the requirement to join. I made a suggestion thread a couple of weeks ago that CDT members would have to come up with new ideas instead of suggesting the same redunant events. But this thread was closed because CDT is to be viewed as voluntary (which can be debatable considering the election process and the vast amount of denials) and you can’t put those requirements on the team. Like, what??? There are tons of people that want to join, that would actually contribute with real creativity. Main counter argument is that ”they can host their own events and don’t have to be in CDT”. My question then is, what the hell are you doing in CDT and why do you vote no on people’s applications when you don’t contribute anything yourself? It’s distasteful.

CDT has become a group of friends that let people they like into the circle. Most members hold each others backs and won’t admit that it’s a shit show because they are afraid to lose their funrank- which is the reason they joined CDT in the first place.

 

At this time we have no plans to host a connect 4 event for a community event, we have however done a connect 4 event in the discord events channel on the sythe discord.

 

This is one of the last replys I will give you as you are not suggesting anything or providing any constructive feedback anymore and just ranting.

The team does brainstorm events before they go live, we then vote on what events we think we will work best. I prefer quality events that work instead of a flop.

We are not saying that the community hasn't suggested anything and that's why we (in your opinion) are not hosting "New" events. We are saying IF you are unhappy with the events we host give us some possible solutions to your problem, that's how it works in the real world. You don't just point stick out your tongue and say "bad bad you suck" help us help you instead of ranting.

Hard to give constructive feedback when you don't reply to our suggestions. My latest suggestion - for example - is still awaiting response. I'm sorry you feel attacked - but we have tried to help you several times but been ignored. Instead of taking a defensive stance I think you should just admit that you've been a bit lousy and not done a good job considering recent community input.

 

When are the 15th anniversary mini ranks supposed to be here? It's been like well over a month since the event I'm pretty sure?

 

Just out of curiosity, what exactly needs to be done in order to get them out? I thought it was pretty easy to make a minirank design and then at that point, don't you just count all the submissions to see who gets one?

 

would like to thank @Saad for hosting my first CDT event! He was really patient me all throughout and does a great job hosting

 

Any update on this mini-rank?

 

Concept of the month:

• Design competition with different concepts every month. Concepts/ design examples:
  • Poster, logo, invitation, e-card, avatar, signature etc.

Previous arguments against this was:

• No interest in participation
  • Only reason that people stopped participating was because the same designer won each and every month with the same style. It got redundant and people were discouraged to participate because they knew they would not win. This is why I suggest switching up the concepts.

• Dead graphic market
  • This week we had 26 (!) different active graphic shops. The graphic market has never been as active.

• People don't possess the skill to participate
  • This could not be more wrong. Look at the holiday design competitions. People who has little to no skill in design programs win more often than people who provide graphic services. It only takes a little creativity.

• Inflation of miniranks
  • Just re-work the point system and prizes.

 

Great suggestion but I mean they can't even give out the rank that's like 2 months late now, let alone organise a competition.

 

I know mate. CDT was better before. Not even worth suggesting things anymore.

 

Just for an update, we don’t control the uploading or giving out of miniranks.

 

@Matthew @Sythe if you guys have become too old to upload miniranks can’t ya transfer perms for someone else to do it?
