This is actually the first time I heard about this and is probably a really smart move by Google because a lot of people I know only use their computers to browse the internet and this is a really cheap way to do just that.

Mine takes like 10 minutes to start up, lol.

This is a very cool product by them, I'd like to actually purchase one.

For me, Chrome opens in about 22 seconds with me putting my password in that I am not greatly familiar with. After bugs are worked out, it will be slightly faster. The point of it is to be very cheap, or it will not sell. Fast and cheap. So it obviously has its point, and a great windows 7 pc has its own point also.

I really do love the netbook I have. Google docs needs work before it will be good enough to switch over entirely, but it is much easier than having to open my laptop to get to my notes all the time.

If it would support documents and MSN/Skype, it would be very cool.

Google docs would be for documents.... That needs work though...

MSN + Skype would require an application be made for them... Would be fairly simple. If there is a demand, the companies will obviously create official apps for them.

So they've stopped giving them out?

Also, after you applied did they send you an email saying that they received your app?

No idea. I didn't do the application. I did a Facebook quiz for a Chrome sticker and they sent me a netbook too.

That sounds really cool, but like XSafire said. I do video editing, etc and use bots and swiftkit, so it wouldnt suit me ):

I wonder if they'll scan your documents for targeted advertising.

Microsoft and Apple could easily do the same. Comes down to trust.

I wonder if the creators of Google knew that their company would rule and dictate our countries electronic and digital world in such short time...

Not really the same thing since on ms/apple computers the documents are local. I wasn't suggesting that it would be a horrible thing for them to do - just curious as to whether they will, like they do with gmail.

Eh. Depends on who you ask. I've read tons of reviews and read comments on them. One site had a bunch of wackos that said Google is the most evil company ever and no one should trust them. I don't think the world is ready for complete cloud computing, but it will be someday I'd assume and Google won't be the only one dominating the market then. Right now, it seems like they are the only ones that are really interested in the web, so its really your only choice.
